The 7-year-old Viola is the daughter of one of my very best friends! She is the kindest little girl I know (not to mention one heck of an artist - her artwork can be found in my office 😊) and her mom is simply amazing! I’m so happy to see this from Viola Davis ❤️

Willie is one of the strongest women you will ever meet. She has a heart of gold. Willie loves her Maplewood Y family, and the feeling is mutual. While she is getting national, and international, attention for what happened, she says the hugs from her fellow members is all she needs. We’re blessed to have her as part of the Y - and that she is back at her normal routine!

Hello friends!
I know I have been sharing a lot of stories from the YMCA since I started working here. A lot of people as "Why the Y?" Well, I could go on and on about that...
I have seen and heard from our members the difference it makes. It's why I am looking to raise at least $500 to help support that. That $500 can give five kids swim lessons, helping learn lifesaving skills. It can also give a senior in our community six months of membership and a place of belonging. You can see just how much of a difference it can make.
No amount is too small.

I've seen the amazing work the Parkinson's Foundation does around Rochester with programs like boxing. I'm really excited that the YMCA of Greater Rochester is offering a Pedaling for Parkinson's program at a number of our branches, thanks to a community grant from the Parkinson's Foundation.

The Pettinella's gift of $1 million names the aquatic center at the Schottland Family YMCA. Their investment into the future is so important for the Y to continue our mission.

Well this was certainly fun! My worlds collided when I got to have Michael Schwartz out to YMCA Camp Arrowhead this week! Check out all the fun our campers have every day -- and see how "big kids" (like Michael 😉) can enjoy it, too!
Discovering all Camp Arrowhead has to offer - YMCA of Greater Rochester Camp Arrowhead has something for everyone. There are plenty of events for families and adults this summer, and time to sign kids and teens up for camp.

Take a look at the Schottland Family YMCA! I remember the stories about it when I was working in news - now being a part of the Y and getting to share the stories of progress with everyone is really cool.
This baby is a little fighter! He’s been through a lot in his life already. Thank you to the people who rescued him and are helping him get better!

National Stop the Bleed Day is this Thursday. The Y is offering FREE training at some of the branches around Rochester - open to members and nonmembers. The 20 minutes you spend at training could save someone’s life!
