Football club for Darfield Queen Vic pub
Massive win away against Athersley Rec. After 2 weeks of trying to get the game played we finally got the green light. At first it was a cagey affair until our main man Elliot Phelan scored the first goal with a right footed super strike from outside the box. Our second goal came from a set piece, a free kick got whipped into the box and Athersley CB has ended up knocking it into his own net. Our 3rd goal again from a set piece saw Elliot Phelan score and put us in a healthy lead. 3-0 at half time. Red card from Luke Micklethwaite just before half time meant we had 10 men for 45 minutes but we stayed solid and saw the game out with a clean sheet.
No man of match decided so weβve decided to give it to the gaffer Matty Care for a tactical masterclass.
Through to the semi finals of challenge cup! UTV ππ€

2-1 win in the hospital cup group stages. Weβve won 3 games out of 3 in our group so far. Today was a good test against Barnsley premier opposition. We are still unbeaten in 90 minutes this season and the lads just keep the momentum going. Man of match today was Tom Horton who dominated in defence and did not let the opponents get anywhere near our goal. Absolutely bossed it all game

Man of match today was Luke Micklethwaite who was a driving force from midfield and won a lot of fouls which our other CM Sam Ackroyd scored a beauty of a free kick. Micky was key to winning that midfield battle which helped us control the game.
