Yaris Cross
I am Yaris Cross. And this is the life of my under-powered and sluggish Yaris Cross 1.5 V CVT. ๐
Good morning, Scarlet! ๐

Thank you, Ma'am Eva, for having us. Kids had fun the whole three days while us adults had our chill time ๐

And just like that, but only after giving undue stress to the people who have been providing them their salaries and bonuses!

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has extended the deadline on the prohibition against the use of improvised and temporary plates for motor vehicle owners.
Instead of the September 1 deadline, the prohibition will start its implementation on December 31 this year.
But LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said this should not be an excuse for motor vehicle owners who have already available license plates to install them in their motor vehicles.
โWe ask the motorists to claim and install their respective license plates as soon as they are available either in the car dealerships and replacement plates in our offices,โ said Assec. Mendoza.
The LTO earlier issued a memorandum circular against the use of improvised and temporary plates after an initial investigation revealed that registered owners of vehicles, especially the newly-bought ones, are not claiming their license plates from motor vehicle dealerships.
Thousands of license plates remain unclaimed in various motor vehicle dealerships and in a meeting with car dealers last month, the car dealers said their clients are unable to claim the plates despite their repeated message to them.
Assec Mendoza said the installation of license plates are also the LTO contribution to the crime prevention measures especially that some vehicles are being used in criminal activities.
โWala na pong backlog sa mga four-wheel vehicles so there is no reason for these vehicle owners not to claim and install them in their vehicles,โ said Assec Mendoza.
โAng natitira na lamang pong backlog ay mga plaka sa mga motorsiklo at ito po ay ang focus namin ngayon in compliance with the directive from President Marcos to address all the backlog on license plates by June next year,โ he added.
Assec Mendoza, however, stressed that the deadline extension will not diminish their effort to aggressively come up with measures to deliver all the unclaimed license plates to the rightful owners.
He said he already instructed the LTO Regional Directors and District Office heads to coordinate with the local government units for the distribution of the license plates. #

Feature assessment after one year of driving the Yaris Cross V. In order of usage frequency, or lack thereof. This is my personal experience and may not be true to everyone else.
Frequently used feature:
1. Temporary Manual Mode - flick of the left paddle shifter for a quick downshift.
2. Power Mode - somehow adds lightness to the drive.
3. Auto Brake Hold - allows the right foot to relax at stop lights.
4. S/M Mode - adds a little agility.
5. Power Back Door - laptop bag and other stuff are always in the trunk.
Unused (rarely used) feature (money wasted since it's part of the price):
1. Eco Mode - very slow pickup, too slow for my liking ๐
2. Wireless Charger - slow to charge, phone heats up very quickly
2. ACC (no expressways in Cebu ๐
)
3. LTA/LKC (if active, car bounces from side to side within its lane)
4. AHB (no use in the city, and annoying to use in narrow provincial roads)
5. Welcome Door Unlock (annoying, and maybe unsafe in some instances.
No cook, no problem. Lechon is only 5 minutes away, again! ๐ To health ๐ป๐
Ready na to refresh ๐

Yown, ina-assess na ni boss SA Toyota Talisay, Cebu
Let's track the timeline for this job. ๐
Day 1 (Jul 12):
- Assessment, Prepare affidavit for insurance (non-inhouse, FPG)
Day 7 (Jul 18):
- Insurance claim approval received by casa, FPG is asking me for a 6,350 participation fee for a 31,100 claim ๐ซฃ . 20% fee against the claimed amount is a bit high.
Day 11 (Jul 22): So I called up FPG to clarify on the large deductible. Apparently I got fooled by the promise of low initial cash out for the policy when I first took out the car. Be wary of the Deductible details in your insurance policy (see added pic). In my case, it will be 6,350 every time I have a claim. Lesson learned na lang siguro to put it lightly ๐
