“I hate to break the bad news, but Sam passed away naturally at 18 years old two days ago…. He went downhill quickly (less than 10 hours) due to a pericardial effusion. He was just playing with his ball just two days before. We stopped at the dog park on the way to the vet for one last cheeseburger. He wouldn’t eat it. When I looked into his eyes, I knew I couldn’t give up on him if there’s something I could’ve done for him. I opted to not put him down, but to drain the effusion to buy us a couple of days to do some testing. No sooner when was I signing the credit card payment, when the ER vet came running out and told me he was passing (they completed the procedure, which is supposed to feel relieving, but his body couldn’t handle it). I think the way he went was perfect. He didn’t have much suffering and he fought until the very end… I did, however opt for DNR because why resuscitate him for it to happen all over again? I feel like we both got the closure we needed. I’ll miss him very much but I’m so glad we both went out fighting and loving each other.”

Crewe lost yet another key employee today. It is clear that the "good ol boys" are fast at work. In less than a few months Crewe has lost a police chief, a town manager and now our finance officer. The problem here is NOT with the employees, the problem is with our council. Plain and simple, they refuse to move forward irregardless of how damaging it is to Crewe.

There are those on council that will argue that we don't need a finance manager because afterall, in previous years that was all handled by the town manager. Of course, the only background that our long standing town manager had was that of banking so of course he knew how to balance a checkbook. But ask yourself, what did he do for our town for almost 20 years, other than watch the town deteriorate. No policies, no pay grades, no employee employee evaluations, not even a job description ever existed in Crewe until Brian Thrower came to Crewe.

When we finally got a well qualified town manager, he was heckled daily by our very own Mayor Miskovic. I FOIA'd just 3 months of emails, text messages and such and was given over 267 pages. How on earth was the town manager going to get anything done?

Our previous police chief was not given any support because he brought new ideas to town. He too was heckled and met with rudeness. He quit after just a year.

Now we have a new police chief. He is doing a great job. But I predict that in a short time, he too, will find that he will not get the support of town council because he will refuse to show favortism to the town elite. This council will NOT let him do the job of police chief his way, he will be reprimanded and treated with hostility as time goes on.

And now we have lost our finance director for reasons that no one wants to talk about.

And last but not least we now have an interim town manager that has a bad temper and has already told me at least one lie. I am not impressed with Jay Scudder.

Wendy Bowen continues to es**rt her favorite employees to town hall for special priviledges and special treatment. When does this stop?

Aaron Reed misses at least 95 percent of all meetings outside of the council meeting itself. He has refused two years in a row to attend out local retreats, citing that it was a waste of his time. He has never attended a hiring meeting for our two top employees (town manager and police chief) yet found plenty of false fault against both of them.

Citizens, ask yourself. Are things improving in Crewe? Our water supply is at threat. Crime is going up and this town council actually considered and discussed eliminating a police officer position. Thank God, that their were enough council members to vote against this awful idea. Thank God, that Billy Abel and Aaron Reed were once again absent for the vote.

I was told the other day that Crewe and one other town have the highest drug abuse rate in the state . In just the last 3 months we have had 2 driveby shootings and a murder less than 2 years ago. We need more police not less.

I beg the citizens of Crewe to get involved. If you need help getting to a meeting, I will pick you up and take you home. Make your concerns heard. Demand that your elected officials serve YOU, not themselves and their friends.

Call it the "good ol boys", call it a fraternity, call it the deep state. It is all the same. It is about special favor for certain people. It needs to stop.

Positive posts are what we are about, so we will only harp on stealing from the farm stand this one time.

But…. If you need food(like some eggs or veggies) and can’t afford them just talk to to us. We are happy to help when we can! All you have to do is ask. If you need more food then what we have to offer we are happy to hook you up with some local recourses! We’ve all had bad times! Just don’t steal from us….

Want some flowers but can’t afford them? Chat with us about how we grow plants! We use solo cups, dirt and seeds and usually always have extras around for you to learn with if you can’t afford the supplies and can’t afford the flowers we have. All you have to do is ask. Just don’t steal from us….

Lastly, we have animals to take care of, plants to water, kids to play with and the last thing we want to do is spend a day in court playing our security cameras so the judge can fine you for some silly plants and egg when all you had to do was ask. Do it once, we forgive. Do it twice…..

We truly thank all of you who have supported our farm via the Farm Stand! We aren’t stopping because of this and look forward to growing(literally!) with all your continued support! ❤️
