Testimonials are here!
If you're considering signing up for the Summer Term of Film Studies, check out these kind words from course participants:
“The whole thing has been fun & informative with a nice group.”
“Covering the history of cinema in just eight sessions presented Julia Wagner with an immense choice in the weekly topics and illustrative materials used. These were intelligently selected to generate both interest and engagement.”
“Julia maintained balance and pace by adroitly chairing group discussions and it was a pleasure to learn so much in the historic venue of the Phoenix cinema. I shall definitely be signing up for further courses.”
“Julia has provided an overview of the history of cinema in just a few lessons, balancing being informative with keeping a light and informal approach, assuring audience participation but also effectively moderating discussions. It is not easy to get the right balance between information and entertainment while addressing these topics, but she managed to keep our attention throughout the course.”
"Julia is very dedicated, intelligent, and professional. She has high interpersonal skills and I truly recommend her.”

Some very kind words from Dr Eylem Atakav, Senior Lecturer in Film and Television Studies at the University of East Anglia:
"I’ve had the privilege to work with Dr Wagner at two Q&A events she moderated. She is brilliant in engaging with the audience while expertly posing thought-provoking questions about issues around gender and cinema. She has this amazing skill of articulating complex academic topics and making them accessible. It is an honour and joy working with her. She is truly engaging, wonderfully passionate about film and debates around Film Studies.
