Hope For Women

Depression really does come with PCOS, it makes you doubt yourself, it makes you feel like a disappointment... especially when you're struggling with becoming pregnant, I speak from experience, it is a daily battle and it can be so draining, but you have to remember that you are not alone in this, never forget that. Sadly, there are so many woman who struggle with fertility issues, but we are all here for each other, together we stand strong, and we help give hope to our fellow women!

Polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder common among women of reproductive age. Women with PCOS may have infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods or excess male hormone (androgen) levels. The ovaries may develop numerous small collections of fluid (follicles) and fail to regularly release eggs.

Complications of PCOS can include:

Infertility
Gestational diabetes or pregnancy-induced high blood pressure
Miscarriage or premature birth
Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis — a severe liver inflammation caused by fat accumulation in the liver
Metabolic syndrome — a cluster of conditions including high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels that significantly increase your risk of cardiovascular disease
Type 2 diabetes or prediabetes
Sleep apnea
Depression, anxiety and eating disorders
Abnormal uterine bleeding
Cancer of the uterine lining (endometrial cancer)

Today I am starting with a topic that hits really close to home, and my main reason for starting this page, in my next post I will give you the details on it, so please look out for the following post. I am 22 years old and for the last few years I have been suffering with PCOS, it has taken quite a toll on me, especially recently since my engagement, I am set to marry the love of my life on Halloween this year, and I have been in and out of the Emergency Center frequently due to the pain I've been experiencing. I am here to share my story, share my progress, and to be here to support other women who suffer with similar conditions.
