If you’re not showing your face in your content, it could be exactly what is tanking your engagement 💬

Imagine if for the last 15 years of posting drum videos on the internet, I never showed my face. I guarantee I wouldn’t have had the success that I had. But why?

When someone can put a face to a brand, it builds trust and authenticity. If someone connects your story, they are creating an emotional connection with your brand. This alone can lead to further engagement and sales.

‼️ Remember: Your story and experiences are uniquely yours and nobody can replicate it. But there will be people out there that can relate to it, and that’s going to be your golden ticket for engagement.

But in order for them to relate, they need to connect with you. So get your face in front of your camera, hit post on Instagram and see how things shift ✨

If you’re not putting a face to your content, you’re doing your brand a huge disservice and could be why you’re not converting to more sales, or gaining more followers.

By showing your face, and displaying your personality, you are simultaneously building trust with you audience. Besides trust, you’re also building the blocks of authenticity within your brand.

Imagine if all of the years I posted drum videos, I never showed my face. I guarantee I would have not accomplished as much.

I get it, talking to a camera can be weird or awkward at first, but nothing comes easy without doing it 100 or 1,000,000 times.

And lastly, as cheesy as it sounds, you are YOU and nobody else is you. Just that in itself sets you apart from everyone else. Your story is not their story and vice versa.

So that next video you post, introduce yourself and get your face onto your brand and see how things change.

Or do you just follow a lot of other people who are in the same industry as you?

You have to remember for every person that knows the topic or skill you’re talking about, there’s a thousand that don’t. That’s who you’re trying to reach.

So much of our time making content is spent overthinking on how to present said content. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of steps that have to be put into place to tell a story correctly. Take it from me, somebody that is terrible at telling stories in conversation, but when it comes to putting it down on paper, it’s so much easier to formulate my thoughts properly. But when it comes to posting consistent content, it can be so easy to overthink the point that you were trying to make. So the next time you sit down to tell a story just remember that it doesn’t have to be super polished, it just has to be relatable.

It’s such a joy taking photos with the Fujifilm and it helps that literally everything in NYC looks like a movie set. We had so much fun (much better than I remember when I was 13), ate so much yummy food, walked about 9mi per day, and can’t wait to go back already!

If some of you have been following me for a few years, you probably remember my time filming for my friend on her farm.

Well there are no coincidences that I a few years later would get married to , we would move onto a ton of land and start our own garden. It’s almost like deja vu.

(But actually the way it really happened, was I had been telling Wes I wanted a garden for the longest time, and one day I came home to him on his tractor digging up a giant area of our yard. After the mild heart attack then realizing what was actually happening I was thrilled 😂🥰)

But it’s funny because before I stepped foot on farm, I had not a clue what I was getting myself into. But boy did I learn a lot through all of the tutorial videos we filmed.

But luckily for me, my husband Wes has a background in farming, so I serve as a great project manager 😉

We should have a few crops pop up here soon, and we are excited to be partially self sustaining.

And no, the neighbors can’t hear my drums out here. Perks!
