I spent some time earlier today with members of the Chabad Maple Grove for their Chanukah gathering at Sundance Lanes. I shared a couple words of welcome and gratitude they are part of our community. Thank you Rabbi Nissi for inviting me to experience the joy of the miracle of Chanukah with you!

Great to see Kristy Janigo at The Daily Dose today! She is a true super woman who wears so many important hats: Maple Grove City Council member, Assistant County Veteran Service Officer, volunteer veterans legislative advocate, church council president, and Army National Guard veteran. We are so lucky this leader is willing to serve our community, state and country in so many ways. 🇺🇸

If you’ve never been to a Rotary Club of Maple Grove meeting, consider joining us this Tuesday morning to hear from city staff leaders about City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government’s housing initiatives. Hope to see you there!

Want to learn about the housing situation in Maple Grove? Come out Tuesday, Dec 12th as Heidi Nelson, City Administrator and Joe Hogeboom, Director of Community Development will talk about the growing Maple Grove community.
Maple Grove is a growing community of over 70,000 people. It’s expected that Maple Grove will be fully developed by 2050. Much of that future development will be housing. It is critical that the City understand regional housing needs, trends, and is able to provide planning that provides an array of housing types and price-points. Affordable housing is something each community in the metro area has to plan for. Goals are in place that help encourage the development of affordable family and senior housing. This presentation will discuss past affordable housing projects in Maple Grove, as well as goals for additional workforce and affordable housing development in the future.
We meet at the Maple Grove Government Center
We will begin at 7:00 a.m. and end promptly at 8:00 a.m.
We remain hybrid using zoom. click the link here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83398710256?pwd=K1dqUCs1M2J4Z2ErYjdCb2xDMGpmZz09

It was wonderful seeing so many of our families enjoying Skate With Santa tonight at Central Park. Rotary Club of Maple Grove lit up Central Park with their volunteer hours and investment in the lights. Thank you to Maple Grove Parks and Recreation staff for all the planning and preparation. It was great to see the Maple Grove Ambassador Scholarship Program, Mayor Steffenson, and Santa and Mrs Claus there as well!

There is a Holistic Healing & Wellness Fair at the Maple Grove Parks and Recreation Community Center until 5 pm. I bought some Protection aura spray which is said to protect against negativity and toxicity. While I certainly encounter plenty of that, it also smells really good 😁

Come down to Osseo/Maple Grove American Legion Post 172 for our Breakfast with Santa! Mr and Mrs Claus are in the house. Each child will receive a toy, and there is plenty of food for the whole family!

More than 80 years ago on December 7, 1941, was one of the worst attacks on America in our history, at US Naval base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The attack killed more than two thousand Americans and sunk US war ships that remain underwater in the harbor to this day. I would encourage anyone to visit Pearl Harbor if you can to see the memorial built over the remains of the USS Arizona including a wall of names of the service members who were lost and visit the museum at the site to learn about that day.

My husband and I joined the community for the Angel of Hope Candlelight Memorial at the Maple Grove Parks and Recreation Arboretum. I am grateful City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government holds space each year for public grief.

My friend passed away a little over two years ago after experiencing homelessness for several years. Her friends paid for a brick with her name that is positioned behind and to the right of the angel. I come here each year to remember her and the other special members of our community we have lost.

Got myself a latte from Kingdom Coffee to enjoy during tonight’s council work session. It’s at the corner of Main Street and Arbor Lakes Parkway North, so very close to the government center. Hope it doesn’t keep me up all night 😁

It was a huge honor to assist with a Veterans Day observance at SilverCreek On Main with a flag retirement ceremony, remarks from my friend from Magnus Veterans Foundation Navy Vet Bob Jaskowiak, pinning ceremony, recognition video, and a patriotic hymn sing. I met two Women’s Army Corps (WACs) who paved the way for me and all female vets and military personnel. Thank you for your service.

I do not remember doing this much last year for Halloween. Third trunk or treat. This was our trunk at Maple Grove Lutheran Church Trunk or Treat. We were a rock band armed with the PS3 game. I sang vocals and danced around in my bone costume to stay warm
