Day 3 of this year's tour, a visit to the caves at Naours, into Albert to the 14-18 Museum, a one we've not done before, well worth a visit, then up to Poziers War Cemetery, Thiepval memorial, Contalmaison, and the Piper memorial. The scale of the loss on both sides means there are so many memorials and cemeteries you need to be selective in where you go and what to stop and visit, however even riding by continues to build perspective and understanding ..
A round up from day 2 of the 2023 tour..Notre Dame de Lorette, Vimy Ridge and the underground trench system, up to Ypres and the Christmas Truce UEFA memorial site with additional stops on the way
A visit to Notre Dame de Lorette, tge memorial here really brings into scale the scale of the loss in WW1
Day 1 of the 2023 tour, Battle of Britain memorial...inspiring stuff..by so many to so few
A lovely day out in the local hills, visiting some of the installations constructed to train troops and test techniques that would be put into action during the Normandy landings.. More info on this later in the year. Ok
