Some new treasures at Kerut Home!

I've been researching hotels for my stay in Rome this summer and I'm debating the D.O.M. It's a bit pricey but looks gorgeous, right!? The combination of mid century furniture, dark wood panels, exposed brick walls and original silk screens from Andy Warhol make for a fantastic atmosphere. The 5 star hotel "evokes nostalgic atmospheres typically Roman, but at the same time maintaining an international outlook and cross." The D.O.M. is certainly at the top of my list!

I'm ready for my summer vacation! I'm off to Italy later in the summer, but this huge resort in Corsica that spans several acres is looking very appealing right about now. Beach side villas, infinity pools, an outdoor restaurant and another that is enclosed by a cave. Murtoli is nestled on a hillside over looking the Tyrrhenian Sea and looks like perfection! I think I'll pack my bags now...sigh....

Fairy tales made from textile - this is the world of whimsical curiosities that are measured, cut and sewn from vintage fabrics, old stained aprons, dusty curtains and trims. Realistically and ingenuously conceptualized, Mister Finch's objects inspired by nature are mysterious and a bit creepy. His creatures tell a story, they evoke wonderment and inspire the collector. Mister Finch resides in Yorkshire and with no formal training his works of art sell out on Etsy very quickly. Welcome to Mister Finch's adventures...

Bernard Kuhn's Berlin shop is like a cabinet of natural curiosities created from clay. His ceramic pieces are playful and mysterious but still very sophisticated with touches of gold. Kuhn's clever works of art contain whimsical images and text of funny and images of nature and fairy tales. His ceramics are like books. They tell a story. Welcome to Bernard Kuhn's library...

As an interior designer, I love creating a story with vignettes. I think every room should have some kind of grouping that ideally consists of objects, art and lighting (lamp). Introduce some character, warmth and drama by creating your own curated corner in your living space. Approach the process as an art exhibit perhaps. The key to a successful vignette is the combination of different textures, shapes, materials and objects that are tall, short, big and small. Enjoy!
