2200-year-old temple of the Greek god found in Italy

Archaeologists Paul Schänging and Francesca Diosono of the University of Munich announced that they discovered traces of a building in southwestern Italy, which may have been the first Hellenistic temple built in the Lazio region.

About this writes Archeology News.

Dating back to the second century BC, a small temple stood on Monte Sant'Angelo, in a sanctuary overlooking Via Appia, the road to Rome. According to Scheeding, on important holidays the processions walked up the slope from the ancient city of Tarrachin to the temple.

Further excavations may reveal the god to whom the temple was dedicated, and the purpose of several cisterns found on the site.

Historians have deciphered the oldest recipes in history
Scientists have learned what the inhabitants of ancient Mesopotamia prepared four thousand years ago.

Clay cuneiform tablets were found about 50 years ago and were stored in the Babylonian collection of Yale University unencrypted. Now, historians from Yale and Harvard have found that they have written recipes - the oldest known to science.

Three tablets are dated 1730 BC. e., the fourth was created about a millennium later. All tablets are from Mesopotamia, which included Babylon and Assyria. Now it is the territory of Iraq, Syria and Turkey.
This is one of the recipes: “Meat is used. Prepare the water. Add fine-grained salt, dry barley tortillas, onions, Persian shallots and milk. Grind and add leek and garlic. ”

Historians already know quite a lot about what our ancestors ate. Indeed, sometimes archaeologists find not only recipes, but also the remains of products. For example, in Jordan, they found the oldest baked bread.

High speed transport
In 2012-2013 Elon Musk proposed a project of an innovative type of transport Hyperloop. Musk presented his idea as the fifth mode of transport after a train, plane, car and ship. In particular, Hyperloop was conceived as an elevated pipeline located on supports, inside of which single transport capsules 25-30 m long move in the same direction with a speed of 480 to 1,220 km / h (depending on the landscape) with an interval of 30 seconds. That a ticket for such a capsule should be fairly inexpensive, because the construction of a Hyperloop-highway will be much cheaper than a classical railway. To date, Hyperloop has not been launched to the full in any country in the world. The project is in the testing phase.
But Hyperloop is not Musk's only high-speed transport initiative. After the businessman expressed dissatisfaction with traffic jams in Los Angeles, the company The Boring Company appeared in 2016, the purpose of which was the construction of a high-speed tunnel. It was noted that in such a tunnel, vehicles will be able to reach speeds of up to 150 mph (about 240 km / h). At the end of 2018, Musk presented the first high-speed underground tunnel near Los Angeles.
