Serikon - ensemble for historical instruments and singers.
Founded by trombonist Daniel Stighäll, Serikon is an ensemble with an aim to renew historical music through improvisation and through newly written music for historical instruments and singers.

Yesterday Serikon performed a Terpsichore production at Stockholm Erly Music Festival together with 9 dancers – each one representing a muse as well as a dance style/tradition. Today we reprise this amazing production! 🤩🥳
Tomorrow Monday and Tuesday Serikon are playing together with this amazing company of dancers in a performance of dances from Michael Prætorius “Terpsichore”

Next week Serikon will travel all over Europe in the footsteps of St Bridget of Sweden – 14th century music from Scandinavia, Spain, Germany, Italy, Cyprus and Constantinople – will be heard in Skara cathedral, the 10th of June.

Already 1522 Portugal proved all flat-earthers wrong!
This was followed by an era of prosperity in which music and art flourished! Serikon performs a program with music from the golden era of Portugal!
Flat-earthers har fel! – det bevisade Portugal redan 1522, det inleddes med Godahoppsudden, därefter en världsomsegling, sen var saken klar. At MedRen 2022 in Uppsala, Serikon, in collaboration with Ensemble Villancico and musicologists Mattias Lundberg and Kia Hedell, will perform a reconstruction of the musical sections of the coronation ceremony 1561 of Swedish King Erik XIV. The concert will take place in the Uppsala cathedral, where the coronation originally took place, the 5 July at 19:30.

Finally – here is the video production of the premiere of "Nighthawks" – "Nattugglor" in Swedish – which is the final production and main artistic output of Serikon artistic leader Daniel Stighäll's PhD in musical performance. The libretto by Tuvalisa Rangström and music by Jan Sandström was inspired and influenced by ideas and practices found in 16th century music dramatical repertoire, and translated in to this contemporary performance. The production was made in collaboration with Studio Acusticum, Piteå and with support by Swedish Performing Arts Agency, Swedish Arts Council and the Landshövding Boströms fund.
