Do you bring inspo pics to your hair appointment?

As a hairstylist, I love when my clients bring in inspo pics. Sometimes clients can have some trouble describing the look they want to go for. Hair can be a completely different language, and not everyone knows all the industry jargon - and that’s okay! Bringing a picture of a celebrity, or a picture from Pinterest you like is a great starting point to help me understand the look you want to try out.

However, it’s important to have realistic expectations. The pictures you bring in are just starting points to your consultation. Why can’t we just recreate the picture exactly? Because you’re not the person in the picture! Everyone has different hair texture, health and density than the photos they bring in. Also, I want to make sure that the haircut you love fits your face shape, and body proportions.

It’s my job as your hairdresser to communicate with you about the elements you love about your inspiration pictures. Then I can adapt the look you want to fit your hair, and face shape. Then you can leave with the haircut you want, perfectly tailored to you!

Whether you’re looking for something more practical, or trying out a cute trend, every girl needs an arsenal’s worth of hair accessories.

There are just some days where I wake up in the morning and the last thing I want to do is style my hair. Thank god for scrunchies and claw clips! These are great (and super cute!) ways to throw your hair up, while still looking like you put in the time to style your hair. Satin and silk scrunchies are great for my curly haired girls because they’re a lot gentler on your hair.
