It's really hard to keep a pen or pencil around at my house. I buy a bunch at the beginning of the school year and they all vanish into a dark abyss in everyone's backpacks. I bought a huge pack of pens and hid them. I take one out when I'm writing and taking notes and then it disappears. I think I need one of those chain things they have at banks so nobody can steal them when I have to leave the table for a minute.

Today is the day my daughter's dreams and my nightmares came true

I was getting a book ready for the editor when I got a surprise. I think two of my minor characters are related. It seems pretty obvious. I'm surprised I didn't catch it when I wrote it. I guess I'll have to wait until the next book to see if I'm right.😂

I had a great idea. It's some one's birthday and their friends plan a surprised party. The person thinks all their friends forgot about their birthday, so they have a miserable day, until evening when they get a party. Wait what? That's already been done in every kids show ever made? Haha. Okay, maybe not, but it sure feels like it.

Hi authors. I read a book some months ago, and I wanted to read it again. I can't remember what it was called or who wrote it. I've read so many indie books this year my brain is all a mess and I can't even remember the story line. I know I sound crazy. 🤣 I believe the cover has a forest on it. There was a girl that was magic and hiding with a bunch of other magic people. There was an organization trying to round them all up. Some of the magical people would get sick and they couldn't figure out why. Does any one know what book I'm talking about?

I've been writing a series of books for ages 7-9 because my daughter was sad The Silver Eclipse was too advanced for her. Today she started having an opinion on the series.
"Are there foxes? Can they be looking for a crown? Why not? Can they look for a ruby bracelet then? Is there magic? Why not? Can there be a tiny bit of magic? Why is the penguin named Jerry? That's not a good penguin name. Can you read it to me after school so I can make sure you make sense?"

A lot of authors have groups that they bounce ideas off of. I made my own group. Literally. My kids, husband and I sit around talking about what I'm writing. They give me great feed back and ideas. I know the brainstorming session is over when they start suggesting I write books called The Hobbos of Harmony and The Dudes of Destiny. 🤣

This is the book my kids are all passing around this week. It's about a boy who finds a box in his Gran's attic and finds out he can turn himself into a cat.
