bo bud greene lost one of its earliest friends and supporters a few days ago. Fellow musician Doe Montoya passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sweet Doreen might not have won this recent battle with the disease, but she certainly won the war of life, emerging victorious as one of the kindest human beings we’ve ever met.
Doreen was a friend in the early days when bbg was still rocking out under the name “Paint.” Doe came up in El Paso along with bbg guitarist Sean Mullens and the rest of our large El Paso expat extended family.
Doe had the charisma of a rock star, but she was humble down to the very marrow in her bones (despite being the most beautiful person in every room in which she entered).
We love you sweet Doreen. We’ll look forward to jamming with you and the ancestors in the near future … when we are all called home.
