This week marks a major milestone in the most significant transformation of the U.S. Army in forty-years. We are excited to release the long-awaited update to Field Manual 3-0 “Operations”, the most consequential evolution in Army doctrine since Air Land Battle. This new doctrine prepares us to train for and win the future fight.

Had an in-depth discussion this week with Soldiers and their families. I appreciate the candid dialogue, questions, and concerns. People First is one of my top priorities because people are our greatest strength, and we’re dedicated to improving the quality of life for every Soldier and family member.

The U.S. Army exists to fight and win our Nation’s wars, and the Army will be contested in air, land, sea, cyber and space, and our future Army must be able to fight in multiple domains at once as a member of the Joint Force. The 24 systems we plan to integrate into our formations by 2023 prepares our Army to fight and win the next battle, not fight the last one better. U.S. Army Futures Command

Congratulations to the U.S. Army Special Operations Command’s squad who earned the title of the U.S. Army's Best Squad! During the Best Squad Competition, squads complete a fitness assessment, 12-mile foot march, weapons proficiency, hands-on squad tasks, written exam, and essay, and culminated with a board interview with sergeants major from across the Army. The competition identified the Army’s most cohesive, highly trained, disciplined, and fit team that is ready to fight and win, because Winning Matters!
