: Many people are easily confused by the terms ‘tenderloin’ and ‘filet mignon’ because they are both from the same part of the cow.

The tenderloin refers to the long stretch of muscle beneath the animal’s ribs, while the filet mignon refers specifically to the pointed portion at the end of the tenderloin.
