I do not own any of the art, but many of the images resemble the overall feel of my second book in the Archarian series.

We continue to follow Kaytrix's journey, but are also introduced to new characters.

Most of the book is dual POV, switching from two main characters.

We made it to Friday! Let me tell you, it was a chaotic week, but today is ending well. 😅

I've been dealing with a cold (cause it's Fall and I always get sick in September), but it's finally going away. 😅

Anywho! I came on here to say hello and share that I have officially purchased a cover for my WIP novella for a character you haven't met yet.

Her name is Alicia, and she appears in Book 2 of the Archarian series. is the first book in the series.

I am excited about this project but I am feeling impatient with myself and my health. One day at a time, but I wish I could just sit down, write, and be done.

Soon. I hope I can complete both projects soon. 🫠

Today went a bit differently than I was hoping but maybe there's a reason God pulls us back and tells us "Not yet."

I didn't get my passport renewed due to needing my marriage certificate (oof) and didn't write a single word (yet).🫠

I did, however, manage to have a nap which I think is what my exhausted, cranky self needed.

Amazingly, there are 900 eyes here now. 🤯"Hello there!" Welcome.

My name is Ericka Evren and I live in Canada.

I write because I love telling stories and sharing the lives of the characters who have lived in my head since I can remember.

I have 3 books written, but only one published so far. Mission of the Ro'arck serves as a prequel to the story I want to tell about Kaytrix.

I love God, nature, and cats. My best day of writing involves something sweet to nibble on and coffee.

I didn't read a lot in the last 10 years of my life. It's nice to get back into it. Red Rising is my favorite saga so far.

Today was beautiful out! I enjoyed the morning with my kitties and a cup of coffee.

I've been ignoring some important clues and signs and just today I woke up feeling excited about my writing. That hasn't happened in a long time, specifically for the draft of EOD, book 2 in the Archarian series.

I got all organized today and reaffirmed some thoughts and feelings. Tomorrow I am diving back into the edits after a very long hiatus.

I am enjoying summer so far! Camping trip #1 to William A. Switzer Park was the release I needed.

I swam in one of the lakes after a long, hot hike and when I say I wish I could have stayed... 🏕 It was the highlight of the trip, but also spending it with my friend and my husband, Steve.

I finally have Light Bringer. Super stoked to read it after Dark Age is complete. I am half way through.

This is the most I have read in forever. I am so bad at updating Goodreads about my progress. 😅

Still writing and preparing for another camping trip with my sister this weekend. Just her and I 👭🏻

It's a wonderfully hot Thursday. I tend to shy away from the heat, but today I didn't.

I finally wrote some words. Damn it felt good after a month of nothin'. Zip. Zilch.

I let the joy of writing slip through the cracks of my own drought. I let feelings of "you're doing it wrong" stamp out my creativity. Yikes.

I also learned if you find something that works, don't change it. All my life, writing outside has been the breath of my writing. I thought I could change that. I was wrong.

How are you? The week has flown by. So much happening at work.

Admittedly I have not typed a single word in probably... 2 weeks? Hah. BUT I have finally finished writing a blurb for my side novella project.

I believe those few paragraphs sucked the life out me. Its never easy.

I joined a wonderful group on FB called Author Unleashed. They help with blurbs. Robert Ryan is amazing and so are all the authors there.

I hope wherever you are, your goals, your mental space, that you feel appreciated and valued.

Sitting outside today with my cats and feeling grateful for everything I have.

Last week this time, I almost lost my life in a car accident.

A semi-truck lost its top heavy load in the wind just as they changed lanes in front of me...

I am not here because of quick reflexes. It happened so fast. I just remember thinking, "he lost his load," and "I gotta move."

So thankful Jesus took the wheel.🕊

It's a Monday and edits finally began on EOD, book 2 in the Archarian Series (Title and cover to be officially revealed this year😅).

I admit, I didn't get a whole lot done. In fact, it was a tad overwhelming. But I made an effort and sometimes just that small step forward can make all the difference.

In other news, Alberta (my home province in Canada) issued a state of emergency due to all the wildfires we've had burning.

Many towns are evacuated. Many fires still burn. Thankfully, the Lord blessed us with rain today.

Praying people have homes to return to. A rough start to the summer but we Albertans are "Alberta Strong."🇨🇦

I am taking some time to read his insightful notes before I begin another round of edits. I find it helps to let the ideas brew.

I am also working on details for book 3 in the series and I believe I have a solid plan. Can't wait to begin writing it.

I am goal-driven. It helps me to buckle down and concentrate on what needs to be done.

Unfortunately, my brain likes to distract me with other things that "need" doing. It promises its so important that it will help with writing once its done.

That's another level of procrastination, I tell ya.
