Why is it some words just give you the heebie-jeebies? It's weird.
For me, it's the word (and I'm even breaking out in a sweat as I type this) "gusset".
My wife Mel and I love watching ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ต ๐๐ณ๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ด๐ฉ ๐๐ฆ๐ธ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ.
Last night, it was the final.
No need for a spoiler alert as I'm not going to say who won...
But for the first challenge, the finalists had to create a pair of opera gloves.
Apparently, getting your gussets right in opera gloves is a must. Who knew, eh?
Well, there were "gussets" flowing like there was no tomorrow. It was a veritable "gusset-fest"!
Anyway, if you don't hear from me for a while, it's because I'll have gone to a retreat for therapy to get over it.
And if we do happen to be chatting, do me a favour and avoid "gussets" at all costs.
Let's get real. You're not going to be everyone's cup of tea. And that's perfectly okay! Quit wasting your time, energy, and sanity trying to appeal to everyone. Accept it, move on, and focus on finding your tribeโthe people who get you and are eager to support you. These are your raving fans, the ones who love you just as you are.
Be uniquely you, flaws and all. Your imperfections make you relatable and trustworthy to your ideal clients. There's no need to be perfect. In fact, being real is what will attract your true fans.
Donโt chase after money by trying to please everyone. Itโll just drain you and make you miserable. When clients arenโt genuinely excited about you or what you offer, they wonโt put in the effort to get results, and neither will you.
Trust that you have value and that there are people out there who are just waiting to find you. When you connect with those who resonate with your message, magic happens. They're your biggest supporters, ready to champion you and your work.
So, stop trying to be everything to everyone. Focus on being authentically you and watch how your tribe rallies around you.

More often than not, they're barely mentioning itโmaybe a post here or there.

The right people will appreciate your insights and be eager to learn more about how you can help them.
Remember: you canโt annoy the right people.

So, letโs shift the focus.
Instead of frantically asking, "How can I find clients?" start asking yourself, "Who do I need to become so that my clients find me?"

That question probably runs through your mind more often than you'd like to admit. Itโs the whisper of doubt that makes you second-guess your every move.

Today marks an unusual milestone for me: I was born 20,000 days ago today.
In those 20,000 days, I've:
Been through school.
Gone to university.
Married the love of my life.
Done my bit in bringing two amazing young men into the world.
Fulfilled my childhood dream to work in radio.
Formed friendships, lost touch, and found them again through the wonders of social media.
Made mistakes - lots.
Learned from as many of them as possible.
Had successes.
Learned from as many of them as possible, too.
Been inspired by people I know and people I don't.
Tried in my own way to inspire people I know and people I don't.
Someone said that we go through life facing backwards: we can only see what's behind us, not in front.
Have I made the most of the 20,000 days I've had so far?
I doubt it.
Will I make the most of today?
Only my tomorrow-self can tell you that...
But I hope he'll be able to say: I did my best.
However many days you've had, I hope you manage to make the most of this one.
I have a confession to make:
It wasn't easy for me to go full time in my own business. I was scared.
Working in radio had been my dream since I was a young boy, and I had real doubts about leaving it behind.
I didn't think it would work. But in the end, I decided to give it a shot anyway. And you know what? It's been the best decision of my life!
Have faith and confidence in yourself that you will make your business a success in 2022.

The most common reason I hear for not following up is: "I'm scared ๐ฑ. People will think that I'm hassling them."
Any leads thinking that way are not the people you want to be working with anyway.
