Devil's Advocate regarding the minimum wage hike: Many are focused on the cost of goods rise this will cause due to small business having to pay their minimum wage employees more.

I say this though... i see dead weight in retail, fast food, and just in businesses in general. Those there just to collect a check. They don't pull their own. They fart around, talk, play games, play on their phones, all the while they are being paid to accomplish tasks.

I think this increase will make a JOB more valuable to where employers and managers will have to take a hard look at who is accomplishing their work and who should be released. I think this COULD be a good thing if business owners and managers are wise. The businesses that are lazy and hike prices to cover the increase without taking a hard look at their staff in my book would be lazy.

Hike prices and people will stop buying. It's that simple. Hike prices and we continue to buy then it's our fault for accepting.

Business owners and managers... i challenge you not to look past your crew. Who is getting the work done? Who is coming to work happy and appreciative? They DO deserve the increase. They are what makes your business work. Find the lazy, inactive, bad apples and drop them like a bad habit. Their wage will cover those who do all the work anyway. They are spoiling your good staff. Let those people realize the hard way that employment is not a right.

The wage increase passed. It is a reality. Bitching about it will not do anything. But, we the people are still in control of where our money is spent.
