Happy Happy 🦃 Day!

For those that celebrate Thanksgiving: no matter what your day looks like tomorrow or how overcome with stress or anxiety you are feeling to get it right or get it out. Please know your future child, child, or children in your life care the most about the atmosphere of love and care above the type of food on the table. Be thankful for the ability to love tomorrow.

I think something every parent and parents-to-be need to remember is that even when times are tough all kids look for is the love of their parents and for parents to accept their love in return. Even on days we feel like less than mediocre parents are children are still bestowing love on to us and that is such a beautiful gift we must remember to not take for granted.

Did you know lemons are one of the most jam packed nutritional fruits? A quarter cup of lemon juice contains around 30% of your daily needed vitamins.

At our home and vacation home we have citrus and fruit trees planted to help us eat from garden to kitchen. I know this isn’t a doable for everyone so here is my top recommendation when picking out citrus. Lemons have a few indicators for ripeness: color, that bright yellow, and their weight, the heavier the juicer.

Time to make a ton of lemon drinks and snacks. 🍋

We hear: do it for yourself, do it for your kids, do it for (fill in the blank) - I try to live every day as if I’m doing it for my future family. Myself, my husband, my Camila, my future kids, my maybe future grandkids, my maybe future great grandkids, and all the extended family I have and will have. It makes every move feel more powerful as if my one step is changing the future of my family to come.

What are your future goals? ⚡️

I’m pregnant! With my second! I’m in my first trimester. And as excited as I was to see those 2 lines positive, it wasn’t my first time in the past 11 months of a positive pregnancy test, all the others followed by a negative blood test. And of course, also included negative home tests sporadically throughout. My body had been playing tricks with me. I had surgery, I was trying to balance my hormones. The longing to continue to grow my family never stopped but my hope was deem.

Something I found was missing from forums, mom blogs, Instagram is the struggle of a second pregnancy. My first born, was a surprise in the best way but was unplanned and seemingly an easy positive. However, my second pregnancy was a struggle. On one end you’re grateful to have your child, your baby, because you know so many other families are struggling for that ONE. So you feel a little selfish for feeling blue while struggling with your second, at least I did. And maybe the lack of openness of that has lead to a lack of community in the second infertility struggle.

I posted on my personal Instagram once on this, but I want to make it a point to work towards an open community here. Which is why I’m posting about my pregnancy in my first trimester. I’m pregnant now; and extremely excited for this little blueberry and being more pregnant won’t make it more real that my blood test was finally POSITIVE for me to post and share. Here to help normalize second pregnancy infertility and early pregnancy announcements.

Happy birthday to my amazing husband, Adam. He is a constant source of optimism and love for our family. From pregnancy, child birth, and parenting he shows me compassion and understanding. I love you.

Say it again and again and again. Don’t ever stop reminding yourself that your emotions are valid.

Just as there are times where we need to bring positive affirmations into our lives. The same goes with pregnancy (and even to our animals!!)

Unconsciously and even consciously we have negative thoughts on different situations in our lives. When we are sick, when others are sick, when we have nervous and anxious feelings.

The best thing we can do for ourselves and others is to practice exercises of relief. One of my favorites is to take 4 deep breaths in, hold for 5 seconds, exhale for 4 deep breaths out. After affirm 3 positives to yourself.

Here is a picture of my chicken HeiHei and myself. She is feeling under the weather. As one of my favorite chickens, this upsets me, but I took my short breathing exercise and affirmed 1. She is loved 2. She has been happy and 3. I will try my hardest to save her.

Try this the next time you feel a sense of uneasiness.

I want to say congratulations. Whether pregnancy is down the road, you’re in that season now, or you’ve just had your baby. Congratulations on an empowering task of wanting more information.

For myself as a mother, during my first pregnancy, I was bombarded with others experiences, expectations, and plans. What’s right. What’s wrong. It was absolutely exhausting. If you feel or have felt that way, solidarity.

BUT HERE - you will only find thoughts, ideas, and community to help build you up. Especially on the days you feel overwhelmed.

Take a deep breath, remind yourself how unique and special you are, and never forget being a wonderful parent starts with love. That’s it.

Hiding from labels. Let’s talk about it. You’re looking to transition into a more healthy non-toxic lifestyle but the information you consume one day still feels like it’s not enough to make the necessary changes. You feel loaded with new findings - it’s hard to keep up. Start with what you’re eating. Take it SLOW figuratively and literally. SLOW (seasonal, local, organic, and whole). This is a gentle method to start cleansing your grocery list slowly but surely.

Don’t feel rushed to keep up with others who have a multitude of non-toxic products and start small. That way you’re giving yourself time to not only become more aware of the food you’re buying but allowing yourself breathing room to become comfortable with the changes.
