The Road Rockets
The Road Rockets official page. Looking forward to seeing you all at a car events around the country!!
I would like to thank all of our Road Rocket family who came out to Culver's last night for the Dine To Donate event!!! Many of you drove your hot rods and really made it an "eye-catching" evening. Our hearts were full last night with all of the support and many of you went the extra mile to make donations in our jars. Charitable organizations like the POW-MIA Council cannot exist without the on-going support of fabulous people like you!! Don't forget to mark your calendars for the POW-MIA Remebrance Day Ceremony being held Friday, September 20th at the Indiana War Memorial!! ❤️ Naomi
Hey Kats and Kittens!!! Last year you all came out in force to support the Indianapolis POW-MIA Council, Inc by coming out to Culver's Restaurant for a Dine to Donate night. The weather was absolutely perfect and the Rocket family came out in force...many of you driving your rides making it an impromptu cruise night. The night was beyond successful and we couldn't have done it without all of your support. Well... we are doing it again this year and I would like for you to all come out and join us for another great night if fundraising. This time we will be at the Culver's in Avon, IN at 7649 US HWY 36 on July 22nd... this coming Monday night. The money raised that night will go towards our POW-MIA Remebrance Day Ceremony being held at the Indiana War Memorial on September 20th. Please see attached flyer for all the details and I truly hope yo see you all MO day night!! 💖Naomi

OMG!! I know that this weekend has been FULL of shows.... open houses and a ton of car events scattered throughout the area. HOWEVER... at the Brownsburg Meadows Nursing Home today a very special group of us made some residents very happy with a fabulous car show! Thanks to Danny Nelson, Chaplain for Legion Post 331 and the great participation and organization of the Meadows Staff everyone had an amazing time. Cars, tractors, trucks and bikes showed up in force and the Road Rockets were overjoyed to be a part of this great day of giving back to the community.
HAPPY FLAG DAY!!!! The Road Rockets and friends celebrated the day in the most perfect way.... at the Independence Village Assisted Living home in Avon!! All of the residents were excited to have a classic cook out surrounded by some pretty awesome cars!! And someone.... don't know who... was passing out American Flags in celebration!! Veterans were especially honored to receive Flag Code pamphlets.
Hope and Meredith, the Activities Ladies at the home, were just overwhelmed with happiness at the success of the event... from staff members to residents to car people, everyone had a smile and full tummies!! The Road Rockets would like to thank Independence Village for their GREAT ACTIVITY and all of our car friends that showed up for a great night!!
See you all tomorrow in Brownsburg!! Naomi
I just want to remind everyone that THIS SATURDAY Danny Nelson, Chaplain of the American Legion Post 331 in Brownsburg will be hosting his annual car and bike show. It's being held at the Brownsburg Meadows Skilled Living at 2E Tilden Drive in BBurg. Last year was a phenomenal turn out... there were some amazing tractors there and the Legion Riders were in attendance and of course the Road Rockets were present and accounted for. The Legion Auxiliary (many whom are my DAR sisters) were there with gifts for the Veterans. The show starts at 2pm and just puts smiles on all the residents faces... it is a great way to give back to the community... we are doing this for the residents... not for trophies.... their joy and happiness is our prize for the day... which makes everyone a winner!!! We truly hope you come out and support this important event. 💕Naomi PS here are some snaps from last year!!

CALLING ALL CREATORS!!!
Over the years we have had the great honor of showcasing the artistic talents of participants, designers, artists, car clubs and businesses when it comes to our guest trophy presenters. We have had everything from mild to wild and this year we are looking forward to seeing what you've all got in store for us. Lil' Red and I will be assembling the trophy display on Friday so make sure that we have your trophies by then. There is still plenty of time so if you are interested in being a guest trophy presenter, build a trophy and have it for us next week. Here are some examples of the fabulous builds from last year! PS: A BIG Motorama thank you goes out to our beautiful 2023 Trophy Girl Trixie!! Naomi
Well, we are ALMOST THERE!! In just a blink of an eye we will all be at the South Pavilion, hanging with all of our friends and enjoying some of the most amazing vehicles ever assembled in one place. I thought I would let you all know that Indy Honor Flight will be joining us again on Saturday. Janice and Donnie (many of you know them both from the Avon Cruise In at the Lowe's parking lot) will be on site to answer all your questions about Indy Honor Flight and how YOU as a veteran may qualify for this amazing FREE flight to DC. They had a fantastic time list year and couldn't wait to be a part of the Motorama again this year!
Also, I wanted to remind you all that we will be once again collecting American Flags that need to be retired. Thanks to Gene at the West Washington Street ACE we have an official retirement box. And remember... ALL those that bring in a flag to be retired will be in the running for something super special and one of a kind during the Awards Ceremony on Sunday.
The countdown begins!! Can't wait to see you all!! Naomi
Well, I hope that you all are getting as excited as I am for the Motorama 1962!! We have some great surprises for you all and I am working hard behind the scenes to make everything just right for you! Our brand new trophies are absolutely AMAZING and we have to give a HUGE SHOUT out to our good friend Jeff at Custom Auto Interior by Stitch for making my dream for the new design to come true!! Not only is he a great interior guy, but a loyal supporter of the Road Rockets! Many samples of his outstanding work will be on display at the Motorama. We would also like to give another shout out to another GREAT GUY who has been a part of the Road Rocket family for decades... Big Jim of Big Jim's Plates who will once again be joining us with his one of a kind, hard to find license plates! We are proud to have him as the OFFICIAL license plate dealer of the Road Rockets! More announcements will be coming in the following weeks! I leave you today with some great shots of our People's Choice Winner last year! Larry Pannell's SWEET T-Bucket!! Who knows... maybe it will be YOU that will win the coveted 7ft People's Choice Trophy!! Always, Naomi
We are just a month away from the Motorama 1962 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in conjunction with the World of Wheels.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
The Road Rockets would like to say thanks to all the veterans past and present!
Some people may count the days to Christmas...other people, New Year's... we Road Rockets however count down the days to the Motorama!!! The smell of fresh flyers is in the air so here you go!! I know that you are all super excited, BUT PLEASE remember the following before sending in your entry: It must include your name, complete address, best phone number to reach you at, your signature at the bottom AND PHOTOS!! We are not the selection committee... they do not know who you are or your vehicle and without photos they cannot determine if your vehicle is something that would fit the Motorama. This keeps us out of the selection process, we have a limited number of spaces and we would want you all.... but that's just not possible. I will call you first to let you know that your entry has been received starting November 20th and after the selection committee makes their decisions. I will call you to let you know you are in. If you have not been chosen your entry will just simply be returned to you.
For those of you who are on the mailing list you should be receiving them shortly.
💕Naomi
What an incredible day!! The air may have been a touch crisp and at times a bit grey but it didn't keep everyone from banding together and supporting 2 fabulous Veterans charity organizations!! The Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3988 in Mooresville rolled out the red carpet for us all. There was an overwhelming amount of stunning one of kind rides there, so much so that judging ran a little late. This my friends is a good problem to have!! They had a tough job but made sure to not over look a single entry so hats off to the judges for staying the course! A big THANK YOU goes out to the FOE and to all the show sponsors for a great day and for all the participants supporting our Veterans!! Naomi and the Road Rockets
Ok Kats and Kittens do we have a show for you to NOT MISS!!! Our friends at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3988 in Mooresville is hosting their 5th Annual Wheels for Veterans Carshow. This show is absolutely amazing and the last time we were there it was a wonderful day with old friends and new. There were many entries that we hadn't even seen before at a show. And here is the best part: ALL proceeds are going right back to the veterans of Indiana thru 2 noble charities.... The Indy Honor Flight and the Indianapolis POW-MIA Council, Inc. We hope you all join us and make this an incredibly successful event!! Registration is from 9am to 11am and trophies are at 2pm.
I apologize for posting so late with this, but it's been a world wind here as of late and well... I needed to catch my breath! The Road Rockets and friends would like to send a HUGE thank you and a HUGE congratulations to Jim for hosting an amazing Hot Rods for Hoosier Heroes car show! His new location at American Legion Post 64 was a fantastic move and it gave us all some elbow room and grew the show by leaps and bounds. For those of you who decided to stay home because you saw and angry cloud or two... you truly missed out on great day of hanging with old friends and making new... and most importantly raising awareness of Veterans Su***de. For those of you who were there you know what a great day it was so tell your friends so they can join you next year! Jim, your dedication to the cause is extremely commendable and we are so glad to have you a part of our Road Rocket family! Naomi and the Road Rockets
Tomorrow!!
