Paging Samuel
PS~ God speaks. We try to listen. In a world that has deafened its ears to His Voice, PS continues to strive be a "voice crying out in the wilderness,."
Paging Samuel is a group of artists who desire to hear God's Word to them and respond to His call by sharing it with others through musical expression. imperfections and all. PS will be sharing a new sin on a classic hymn one moment, and sharing heartfelt song-stories of struggle or life the next. Life isn't a straight line, is a winding road with many hills and valleys. May we always keep our ears open, and our hearts ready. PS- God speaks. We try to listen.
1Samuel 3:9
Can't guarantee the vocals will be great, but we had fun tonight! Gettin' ready for a fundraiser for NCYC next week!
Hey, all! We're in search of a drummer (especially one who plays acoustic drums as well) and a bass player. We play whenever it arises, and don't focus too much on pay (though it's nice when we get it). We will be working on new songs soon as well. Is it you we're looking for? Let us know!
Let's make abortion as unthinkable as slavery!
2023 March for Life | LIVESTREAM Tune into the LIVE broadcast of the 2023 March for Life in Washington DC! This year, we gather in our nation's capitol to celebrate the historic overturn of ...
For the Moms. For the Dads. For the little ones who have no voice. For the doctors, escorts, and those who embrace abortion. For our nation. For this world and our conversion we march and pray.
We're still in the Christmas Liturgical Season. We celebrated the beginning of a new year and Mama Mary as Theotokos (Mother of God) and our Mother yesterday.
Now what are we going to do with it?
Long lay the world in sin and error pining, 'til He appeared and the soul felt its worth.

Advent Week 4: Peace!
"Our Lady always invites her children. She invites them to visit her, to draw closer to Our Lord, and to greater conversion. This is the beauty of the Catholic Church. We are truly cared for by her. Time and time again, her apparitions have brought messages of healing, hope, and faith.
Our Lady of Guadalupe magnifies the grandeur of life. In the image she gives to Juan Diego in his tilma, she uses signs to signify that she is with Child, yet still a virgin. Juan Diego, when around her, hears beautiful birds singing and collects flowers in full bloom during the coldest months of the year. Mary wishes to show us that life is full of wonder and beauty. Life should never be snuffed out by human hands. All of these signs point to life triumphing over death.
In whichever way The Lord calls us, let us make a spiritual pilgrimage to Our Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe, this Advent season. Through our devotion, may we find the infant Lord wrapped safely in her arms."

Advent Week 3: Joy!
Advent Week Two (Started yesterday): Love.
Advent, Week One. Hope.
WHAT'S THE POINT OF ADVENT?
"I have been asked more than once, particularly by my evangelical friends, why Catholics and mainline Protestant Christians put so much stock in “ritualistic” sorts of things not explicitly spelled out in Scripture, things like Advent, and its trappings — the purple vestments, the Advent wreaths and colored candles; the season of “light penance” as we anticipate once again the birth of Christ. “Jesus came once for all; he doesn’t keep coming,”a friend argued. “Christmas is a wonderful season. Why do you need a whole Advent season, too? What’s the point?”

We live in a crazed world and society that is abandoning God more rapidly every day. What of we who call ourselves Christian?
I know I'm far more silent than I used to be out of tremendous fear of others or other repercussions. We don't even know our own God-given identities anymore, and they're aiming it all at our children. I already struggle with avoiding conflict due to ADHD tendencies. But it goes far beyond that.
If you speak any semblance of Truth, good luck not getting ripped apart by the mob we now face.
We need to pray for the strength to endure. It's already rough, and it's treading in the wrong direction.
God is greater, yet we are weak. Please pray for us, and we will pray for you. That right there is something to be thankful for!
We still things are just getting “progressive” and not aggressive towards Christianity. This is an after school program aimed for kids as young as 5. The family brochure states:
Why SATAN?
Can I join in the fun with my child?
Welcome to After School Satan Club!
We appreciate you taking the time to learn about our club and considering us for your child’s after school activity!
Check out our FAQ’s and please feel free to ask an ASSC volunteer for any further clarifications or questions not addressed here.
To call our club any alternative such as “science club” or “atheist club”, which has been suggested by many, would be disingenuous and akin to hiding.
Satan, to us, is not a supernatural being. Instead, Satan is a literary figure that represents a metaphorical construct of rejecting tyranny over the human mind and spirit. (More in comments)
Happy and blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours!
We continue the tradition started by the Catholics in St. Augustine, FL on September 8, 1565 and carried on by the pilgrims in 1621.
We have much to thank God for - from the daily blessings God sprinkles on us which we often take for granted, to the overwhelming life-changing blessings, and everything in between.
The Eucharist (from the Greek that literally means “thanksgiving”) is the primary way to offer thanks on Thanksgiving Day, followed by a meal shared in a spirit of fraternity. Let God be a central part of your holiday!

God bless you!
Happy Thanksgiving!
What a great night! God has an amazing way of keeping everything in your life in a circle that keeps bearing fruit. The people you meet over time, and those you meet through them can sometimes be an incredible surprise in how God brings you together.
God has spared me from prison and disease from choices I've made in the past. Only He knew what He had waiting for me, and how He would take tremendous good out of tremendous evil.
He also guides every little change in our lives if we seek Him, as imperfectly as we do. He never ceases to pursue us. We only have to repent, over and over...
What song or artist is your go-to right now?
If you think you're not important, take stock of how many times and in how many ways you're tempted or fall every day. You're so important that there's a literal battle going on for your soul between Heaven and hell.
And don't think that because you haven't fallen or struggled with certain sins for even years that they can't resurface. Pray.
Ask Jesus, Mary, and Joseph to help you. Ask your Guardian Angel. Ask your patron saints. Ask your family and all you've known who are in Heaven. Ask them all.
"Stay sober and alert. Your opponent the devil is prowling like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Resist him, solid in your faith."~ 1Peter
"God is merciful in so many ways. His love for us knows no bounds.
One time in 1949 Padre Pio was talking with a certain doctor who was very close to him. They were discussing prayers for the dead. Padre Pio said to him, 'Maybe you don’t know that even now I can pray for the happy death of my great-grandfather!' But the doctor remarked that he has been dead for many, many years. Then Padre Pio explained, 'For the Lord the past does not exist. Everything is an eternal present. These prayers had already been taken into account. And so I repeat that even now I can pray for the happy death of my great-grandfather!'"
It's ever so important to pray for every soul that is still wandering or in Purgatory. Some have no one to pray for them. Let us never forget!
All Souls' Day - Wikipedia All Souls' Day, also known as the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed and the Day of the Dead, is a day of prayer and remembrance for the faithful departed,[2] which is observed by Roman Catholics and other Christian denominations annually on 2 November. Happy All Saints Day! ♥️ All you Holy Men & Women, pray for us!
Our Father loves us infinitely, even when we don't love Him. He longs for our love.
Each one of us can look at moments in our lives where we were spared from injury, death, or other harm. We can all look at moments where He has taken a tremendous amount of good out of the worst experience. Why did He help us?
He never gets tired of us coming to him asking for His Mercy.
Yesterday I lost it on my daughter when she was being defiant. I decided to get ready for where we were going. She wrote a little note with hearts, her name, and mine and slipped it under the bathroom door for me.
I had already been praying. Her little note melted my heart and melted my anger away. How much more does our Father melt when we, His little children come to Him in Confession and ask for His Mercy?
Wisdom 11:22–12:2
Before the Lord the whole universe is as a grain from a balance/ or a drop of morning dew come down upon the earth./ But you have mercy on all, because you can do all things;/ and you overlook people’s sins that they may repent./ For you love all things that are/ and loathe nothing that you have made;/ for what you hated, you would not have fashioned./ And how could a thing remain, unless you willed it;/ or be preserved, had it not been called forth by you?/ But you spare all things, because they are yours,/ O Lord and lover of souls,/ for your imperishable spirit is in all things!/ Therefore you rebuke offenders little by little,/ warn them and remind them of the sins they are committing,/ that they may abandon their wickedness and believe in you, O Lord!
The word of the Lord
This is why we even celebrate Halloween, or All Hallows' Eve. We celebrate every man, woman, and child who've won the race and received their crown in heaven.
Our children need to know this.
They need to know about these imperfect people who were made perfect by our mighty God. They need to know how God made them great, even through the smallest ways. They, and we need to know that He wants to do that in us and with us too.
This isn't about pumpkins, ghosts, witches, costumes, and candy (though we have fun with dressing up and candy). It's about the Battle for our souls.
I for one have not done a great job of passing this on, let alone learning more. Let's pray for each other, build each other up in our weakness, learn more about these holy ones, and pray through them for our own holiness!
Remember this as we head into the weekend. Keep your rosaries with you - and use them! https://www.ewtn.com/catholicism/devotions/how-to-pray-13648
Jesus said to love your enemies and to do good to those who hate you. He said to turn the other cheek. Thing is, that's easy to say, but quite difficult to put into practice. And doesn't it seem that that's especially true at home?
It's also true wherever we go. We could be at work, shopping at a store, driving, and so on. It may be one of the most difficult things we can do.
I personally struggle with this verily. I know how I should be acting. I know how I should be thinking about others. I know how I should be treating them. Everyday, though, my actions speak quite opposite what I believe. That's a harsh reality for me.
Sometimes it takes others you may not even believe the same thing to say just what you need to hear. That's how I was for me this morning. Don't let it show that your bothers are irritated. Yup, I'm great at that! Right...
Treating others with kindness, hopefully without the intention to annoy them with that kindness, can go a long way. It may not go a long way for those people, but it will go a long way for us.
They may not change, but we most likely will. This change doesn't happen without prayer though. And that's a whole other topic isn't it?
Most people think they're good. Of course we're all created good. But we don't have our salvation locked down with a money back guarantee. And no, we certainly can't earn it.
What we can and must do, though, is lean into the Grace and Mercy of a Father who is beyond anything we can describe or fathom. Without that, we have absolutely nothing, and our eternity is a serious question mark.
He gave us the Mother of His Son to fight for us. And fight she does. Leaning on her will always lead us to Jesus. Her prayers can help us recognize our sins more clearly, and aid us in Confession and conversion.
Let us not be convinced of our own power and righteousness. We are simply not strong enough. Heaven isn't a guarantee. It's an invitation.
Lk 13:22-30
Jesus passed through towns and villages,
teaching as he went and making his way to Jerusalem.
Someone asked him,
"Lord, will only a few people be saved?"
He answered them,
"Strive to enter through the narrow gate,
for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter
but will not be strong enough.
After the master of the house has arisen and locked the door,
then will you stand outside knocking and saying,
'Lord, open the door for us.'
He will say to you in reply,
'I do not know where you are from.'
And you will say,
'We ate and drank in your company and you taught in our streets.'
Then he will say to you,
'I do not know where you are from.
Depart from me, all you evildoers!'
And there will be wailing and grinding of teeth
when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God
and you yourselves cast out.
And people will come from the east and the west
and from the north and the south
and will recline at table in the Kingdom of God.
For behold, some are last who will be first,
and some are first who will be last."
Do you know the Jesus Prayer?
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
If you're Catholic, did you know you can pray this in place of the usual Act of Contrition during Confession?
And if you are or aren't Catholic, this is a simple, humble prayer to pray often.
This was preceded by the Gospel of Luke, which was proclaimed this past Sunday. We need His mercy, so He can pick us up and make us something greater and holier. Never tire of asking for it. We're all messed up and need fixing.
Luke18:9-14
Jesus addressed this parable to those who were convinced of their own righteousness and despised everyone else. “Two people went up to the temple area to pray; one was a Pharisee and the other was a tax collector. The Pharisee took up his position and spoke this prayer to himself, ‘O God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of humanity—greedy, dishonest, adulterous—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week, and I pay tithes on my whole income.’ But the tax collector stood off at a distance and would not even raise his eyes to heaven but beat his breast and prayed, ‘O God, be merciful to me a sinner.’ I tell you, the latter went home justified, not the former; for whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Friends, JD asked me to share this with you. If God places on your heart to contribute anything whatsoever, it is deeply appreciated. Prayers are always first and also appreciated more than you know. This is his brother's family. Thank you for your sincere consideration.

Please pray for this fella (the bigger one) for a very special intention. He's a good man and he could surely use it. Thank you!
"There is no evil to be faced that Christ does not face with us. There is no enemy that Christ has not already conquered. There is no cross to bear that Christ has not already borne for us, and does not now bear with us." ~ Saint John Paul II
As we hear Jesus ask in today's Gospel, "But when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on Earth?"
I for one am not the man He calls me to be. I fall daily, over and over. I struggle with anger in my home, feelings of inadequacy, and so much more.
As we look around us, and at ourselves, we can see the evil we face now. Will He find faith on the earth? Will He find it in us?
We need constant reminders that He fights for us and alongside us. His Mother fights for us with a fierceness of the holiest Mother who is ours as well.
Don't be afraid of your weaknesses, your sins, or your mess. Frequent the Sacrament of Confession, pray and never stop. He loves you, and He will get you there.
