Customer getting the suspension installed with some new Wilwood brakes.
He coated the suspension with Tiger powder Coatings, 138/70046 - RAL 7040. Matches the Gray nicely.
I can supply the Brakes with your kit if you’re interested.

Old Brakes versus new. I’ve had the Aerospace Brakes on this car since 2009. Great product!
I wanted more, so over the last few years I’ve been sporadically working on this package using the Wilwood Spec 37 12.75 X 1.25 disc, and a slightly modified Hub bolted to the Mustang II size spindle from Argo Mfg.

The good news is that more materials for the next batch of Stage1 suspension kits just picked up.
Unfortunately the cost has increased.

Spending some time with a few 1970 and later upper control arms.
I pulled out my old fixture from the 1969 and earlier upper arm fixture. Mounted up the steering knuckle stuck on the 1970 control arm just to see where the pickup points land.
I’m figuring out what materials I need.

To all potential customers of the Stage1 AMC suspension upgrade, below is an average cost breakdown of a typical kit.
The costs of all these components is constantly changing, and moving to double adjustable shocks will increase the cost.
Thought it would be helpful to post this to clear up any potential questions.

I took a break from working on customer stuff and fit my new-to-me valve covers with new threaded bungs welded on with screw on Moroso breathers, next some brake line improvements then I can get this back in the car!!

New fittings welded to A&R AMC valve covers, from that I need to configure updated baffles and venting.

Question, who may want a serious racing style front brake kit?
Minimum wheel diameter will be 17-Inches.
I am building this for my car, it will not be inexpensive, The brake bracket will be a custom CNC piece.
- New ARGO Mfg. 'Pacer' style spindle, shares dimensions with Mustang II spindle.
- GT 48 Curved Vane Rotor: 12.72 Dia. 1.25 W.
- Wilwood Forged Superlite Internal 4 Caliper

The biggest question; how do I order a kit?
Answer is you can email me at [email protected] and I will add your Name and Email to a waiting list. I ship kits in the order I get requests.
I do not ask for any sort of deposit; I simply contact you when your name is up. At that time, I will send you an invoice and we will work out the payment and shipping details.

BE AWARE, THE WAIT WILL BE SEVERAL MONTHS.

When I ship your kit, I can also supply ALL QA1 required components, or I can provide the part numbers and you can purchase those separately.

Information on AMC Stage 2 lower control arm upgrade.
It's not ready to sell yet, but I have been testing it on my car for a couple of years now. I also have the weld fixture built. I still need to design several parts so they can be laser cut, and create the specifications for several custom spacers.
Building one custom suspension is strangely easy compared to the preparation needed to build several hundred of that same thing.
Another detail I need to work out is that the lower Stage 2 lower control arms should fit ALL AMC's from 1964 to 1984.

POST #1. First, I want to thank everyone for purchasing my AMC stage 1 suspension kit. I expected to sell about 20 and I have more than 100 kits shipped.
I created this page for current and new customers to communicate directly with each other.
This is a part-time activity for me, and I have very limited ability to speed up production of these kits, each kit is fabricated in my shop and each control arm is tig welded by fabricators with extensive welding experience. Often my full-time job and family cause delays with getting AMC suspension kits built.
Again, thanks to everyone for your support, and good luck to everyone working on an old AMC, it's not easy, but well worth the effort.
