It was a wonderful to meet the inspiring Vidushi Sudha Ragunathan today. The meet and greet began with a short talk by Sudha Ragunathan ji focusing on music and musical activities in Dallas, and also her upcoming concert tomorrow including Sri Ganapathy Sacchidananda Swamiji’s compositions.
For students , it was a wonderful experience to meet a great musician they have looked up to, in person and listen to her answer questions from all very articulately. Am
sure students will cherish this experience. Thanks the organizers in Hanuman temple for planning and making this happen!
Looking forward to her concert tomorrow !

Was a joy performing Narayana Divya Namam in Mohanam accompanied by Sri.Umamahesh Iyer and Sri.Ramakrishna Neti for the 10th annual Papanasam Sivan festival in Dallas! Felt great to sing for nice and knowledgeable live audience especially as it’s been a while! Thanks Umamahesh and Neti ji.
Have enjoyed performing every year with wonderful artists. Thank you Ashokji, always a pleasure listening to all lovely compositions presented by artists.

Had a long and fun day at Papanasam Sivan festival in Dallas on Aug 6! Attended my students categories for competitions in the morning. Missed many of my senior students as they were traveling!!
Happy to share that my students won the following prizes in their categories.
Sreevibha Srinivasan - 2nd prize junior in krithi competition
Shravya Bharathi - 2nd prize subsenior in krithi competition
Dhwani Karthik - 1st prize in krithi competition for thanigai valar in thodi
Dhwani Karthik - 2nd prize in Ragam and Swaram competition for Pantuvarali amba manam
Appreciate all their hard work and am so very proud of each of them!
Enjoyed performing to a live audience after a long time at Hanuman temple, with Umamahesh and Neti ji in the evening!
Many thanks to Ashok Ramani ji for his time and effort organizing the festival and motivating kids. Glad that it was in person after so long! Kids were really fortunate to receive Smt.Rukmani Ramanis affectionate blessings too.

Very glad to be part of Sri.Papanasam Sivan Music festival in Dallas today. My students and I have been part since the first year in Dallas, and this is the 10th year festival!!
Students will be participating in competitions and were eager to learn the great composer’s compositions. Look forward to singing a short concert this evening at around 6 pm. Hope you can swing by at Hanuman temple!

Mukthayi Maalai (garland)
Dhwani loves varnams and she created this garland of mukthayi swarams. She chose about 11 of them from her learnt varnam list in different ragams, picked phrases from each mukthayi Swaram and arranged it in Adi thalam according to her aesthetic sense and creativity.
The ragams also re-appear in reverse order starting from Durbar!
The parts I loved is when she took similar phrases and blended them in different ragas eg: “srgPdsndP” phrase from bowli varnam and used Durbar varnam from “dP” of the above phrase. Another example- “pmd” phrase from both Kalyani and saveri.
So happy she worked on putting this together when I was traveling and sang it to me on my return which happened to be Mother’s Day! 😍 was a sweet surprise though I knew she was up to something. Appreciate her interest, enthusiasm, all her effort and proud of her for coming up with this innovative idea! 🥰

Concert starts at 1:05! Performing with live accompanists after about 2 years was thrilling!!! 😊
