"Song of the Embryo". A deep somatic journey into the origins of our life.... We never stop being an embryo.
Our development, which began with conception, continues throughout our lives. Once we begin to incarnate embody (manifest our essence in the flesh), we are constantly creating and recreating ourselves, transforming, shaping ourselves in the flow of movement and interaction with the environment.

WORKSHOP 22-25th March, Thailand
During these 4 days, practicing in water and on land, we will dive into the earliest stages of our development. We will re-live these stages consciously and meaningfully, and absorb from them all their natural wisdom, resources, and support.

NOURISHMENT
Nourishment is an essential part of our early development. Our interactions with the world are largely centered on taking what we need for our growth. As adults, we may notice – is it easy for us to let the world nourish us? How we accept and receive what might be nourishing for us – organic, climatic or social, relational.

SOMATIC REPATTERNING
Often our beliefs and defense mechanisms prevent us from fully receiving nourishment. Through somatic practice we can rewire this – embodying early developmental patterns through imagery, movement, touch, breathing and sound.
We will be able to change our habitual patterns to more supportive ones – for our body, soul, and relationships.

INTEGRATION
We will use Authentic Movement, improvisation and performance to integrate our somatic processes and transformations.
We will embody our experience (condense it, flesh it out) through movement and dance. Being visible, and at the same time having the non-judgmental attention of another as support.

APPROPRIATING
Allowing your process to be seen, making it a source of spontaneous art that can be shared with others, and so take its place in the world.

Together with a team of organizers and teachers, we think anew each time - how this year, in the state we read in this particular group, in this social and political context - we can help those gathered not only learn to dance our favorite dances (in this case, contact improvisation in water and on land), but also:

- Recognize, name and question the underlying LIMITATIONS that get in the way of showing up fully, being present, connecting with others, and experiencing the joy of play and interaction. Move beyond these limitations and dance on the "other side".

- To develop the necessary SKILLS related to boundary-building and self-care, bodily and psychologically.

- To give way to one's curiosity, exploration, to manage one's own attention and guide one's development. To join with others in collaborative inquiry and EXPLORATION.

- Request the necessary SUPPORT, organize support for oneself, accept support. To be generous in giving support to others on different levels - sometimes it can be a look, a response, a sound, an observation, a touch, the creation of a caring space, or silence.

The festival is structured in such a way that only part of the time is given to teaching in the classical form (CLASSES and INTENSIVES).

The most important part is the contact JAMS - a space of improvisation lasting several hours. This is where the mystery actually takes place. Joint creation in movement, play and sound. Or in silence.

An equally important part is the so-called LABORATORIES.
This is a place when one or more people declare their interest, and then all those who have resonated with this interest go into joint research of the proposed topic. On the fly, giving birth to a format of interaction and establishing it. That is, there is no external teacher, but the dance itself and curiosity become our internal teachers.

And another interesting thing is ART PROJECTS.
They say that dance is an opportunity to express the inexpressible. We specially invite people who are good with camera or other expressive means to support those who have a desire to realize creative ideas and then share them with the world.

Festival news:
1) This time we are gonna add a new part to the schedule - Sunset Rituals - sacred dance events for the whole tribe.

2) Another nice change is that we add an intensive on the basics of Water Contact, at the beginning of the festival, which helps to balance the level of experience within the big group.

3) Parallel to the basics of Water Contact, there will be Advanced Water Labs running - for those who want to jump into the creative mode from the beginning!

Part #1
First three days are dedicated to soft arrival, connecting to the loving land of the island, meeting the sea and preparing ourselves to the magic of the dance that will blossom on the solid ground, soft sand and in the warmest sea.
At intro classes you will be able to revive or learn the foundations of Contact Improvisation, discover the basics of freediving and warm up your body for the intensives and jams. You'll also have time to connect to the island and discover its wonders.

Part #2
Second part of the festival we dedicate to deepening into the technical and somatic aspects of dancing contact on land and in water. And of course, jamming is an important part of the festival - the moment we practice freely and co-create non-verbally all together.

Part #3
Towards the third part of the festival we will be full of inspiration, inner journeys, discoveries, artistic ideas and desires to research CI and movement. This time is for shared creativity and exploration. You will discover that you don't need a teacher to continue practicing - let the dance, your partners and your curiosity to be your teachers.

Exists purely and uniquely
Describable by the poetics of sciences
Yet unfathomable by the elitist of analysts

It is to be experienced
It is to be breathed, moved
It is to be embodied

We have been apart
For various human and inhuman reasons
Shall we say it is time to reconnect?
I say YES YES YES!

How about we start from minding our contact
With the earth
The air
The ebbs and flows
Of thoughts
Feelings and emotions

How about we begin from minding each breath
That empowers each spark among the nerves
Bathing in our wise fascial universe

Is our skin a boundary?
Or is it a bridge?
Interoception doesn’t have to mean isolation
Exteroception can come with a mandala of boundaries

There is a universe out there
There is a mirroring universe in here
Let’s take a shallow breath and
Dive deeply

Some say they know how to dance
Other say they don’t
What is there to be known, really?
Aside from the willingness to take a step

Twitch a muscle
Blink an eye
I know I don’t know anything of any importance at all
If I cannot share the dance with you

We have been apart
