Happy thanksgiving from us to you!
Before the month of October officially ends I want to acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness Month and honor the women and families who have been affected by this disease.
Itās heartbreaking for us as adults to handle the weight of difficult diagnoses. Itās hard to imagine how much more our children struggle with the idea of a loved one fighting for her life.
I have been so impacted by the stories of grieving families that I have committed to helping caregivers walk through these conversations alongside their littles.
My next childrenās book does exactly that. It discusses a grandmotherās diagnosis, and I know that this story will be helpful for families to read together.
Stay close for more details on the book and, in the meantime, give a little extra love to your people this weekš
Not even joking.
Happy birthday week to my Lydia!

Loved having my questions answered by the talented Karen Inglis, author of The Secret Lake and various other titles!
When I first started writing, I did not think that I would get to meet so many talented individuals who are in my corner. This ride has its waves but the pros keep giving me a surfboard!
The first 2 years though, this was NOT my reaction. It was filled with dread, angst, and insecurity.
I was concerned people would see weakness in my tears.
Others' reactions held higher value than my mental health.
But now, as I have worked on healing and regaining my own strength, I will answer this question in whatever I choose. I am allowed to say 5. I am allowed to say 2. And I am allowed to change the subject.
How do you answer this question?
She didn't seem too excited about the crown but she was so excited to see a dog in the car next to us.
My book is eligible to enter 22 awards recently matched by Book Award Pro. I'm not going to enter all of them, but there are some great opportunities to consider. The more I can share this narrative, the more people will see the honesty people need in their grief.
One of the beauties of self publishing is having the ability to work through the words AND the images in my book. I was intentional on representing children of different background in I Miss the Baby. Children who laugh, play, forget, love, remember, and deserve to have their realities acknowledged and understood.
Wednesday Review!
Thank you for the love and for acknowledging the support children need! I use my book with children who are also younger than their loss siblings. I also know of cousins and nieces and nephews who use my book.
Terrible lighting but I just HAD to do the Vitemeatavegamin commercial at the I Love Lucy museum a few weeks ago. I am definitely out of practice with my acting skills but loved being in the studio and show recreations.
"It's so tasty too!"
I remember seeing the famous seal on the cover of so many great works of literature. I appreciated it them as a child because of their easy cadence and memorable illustrations. As an adult, I can see how they form the basis of phonemic awareness and begin to build comprehension.
Finally, as an author, I am just amazed that I am even eligible for such an award. I take the consideration to be a step toward widespread of acknowledgement of the grief process. Oh the places we'll go!
Thankful for the professional and distinguished 5 STAR review from Reader's Favorite! Their feedback has been helpful in steering me in the right path and their time honored critique for authors of various genres have propelled me toward becoming an award winning author.

Helping families because this grief can happen to any family that speaks any language
Yesterday was National Ice Cream Day. And I need to calm down. I was getting used to all the non-dairy stuff and then THIS shows up at the store.
I am now accepting all lactose-free ice cream and treats. I will accept them indefinitely. Thanks! š

Understatement to say I'm freaking out! It's been slow and steady over here on getting things done. And just totally humbled that my simple prose alongside the beautiful paintings from Willow Bark Crafts have helped reach countless families during a difficult time.
This rating is for my newest release as an eBook and I really hope everyone gets the chance to check it out.
Thank you so much to everyone who leaves a review š
It's these quotes that remind me that the work I put into my books and getting their message spread is worth the effort. I love all of my readers and I understand as best as I can the struggle you're going through. Every single book, every single page... I see you the multitude of emotions that come with them.
My big girl! When we first came home from the rescue ne car seat drowned her and she could barely look out the window. Of course, she had no idea what a window was and was so amazed that it agically opened and closed on its own!
One of the reasons I created an activity book to go with my first book is because of my background in education. I knew that there needed to various methods of working through grief based on what works for each individual.
There are multiple visual, kinesthetic, and auditory activities so a child and their caretaker can choose what they need on any given day. Some days, I need to color, other days, I need to cut paper, and other days I need to move my body outside.
This activity book is a resource for anyone needing ideas and time as the days pass into weeks and on.
