Nested Home Interiors
Interior Design and Consultation. Creating spaces that feel like home to whomever plans to spend their time there.
I figured I’d share another angle with you of this space, but also of this gorgeous table! 👀🤩
We had this table built custom by a local craftsmen, inspired by a table found online. The beautiful thing about doing it this way is: A) Customization, 2) Quality/Durability, and D) It’s personal! It’s a one of a kind piece that reflects YOU 💫
Because this table needed to fit so nicely into the L-shaped built-in bench, we needed something pretty exact in terms of measurements, but also in terms of the overhang so it was comfortable to get in/out. Custom means we also get to choose the wood type, finish, and stain colour. And did I mention the quality? Can’t beat it. 🤌
Have a space you’re looking to re-vamp? Not everything needs to be a gut job renovation. There’s lots of beauty to be found within your existing walls. Reach out if you want to chat!!
Ps. Who caught the Home Alone reference?
Swipe for the before! ➡️
I knew when I first saw this space that a built-in L-shaped dining bench would A) make a great use of this corner space and create a better walking flow into their kitchen, and B) be a big hit with their young, growing family! 🩶
Plus what better place to display candid photos of their family than via a gallery wall above the bench where they all sit daily? 🙌
Plus storage. We all love sneaky bench storage. ✨
Ohhh, we are getting super close to the finishing touches in the guest bath of Project Serenity Now! ✨
A little sneaky peeky of one side of the bathroom that I just had to toss a few styling items in cuz I couldn’t resist.
✔️Quartz went in yesterday, plumbing final tomorrow, and then it’s the last little details to cozy it up: Mirror, sconces, shower curtain, artwork, decor!
Bathrooms are quickly becoming one of my favourite places to watch a transformation take place because even without a layout change, the right choices can make such a dramatic impact 💥
Now tell me.. for bathrooms - are you team light + airy? Or team dark + moody? 🤍 / 🤎
Happy Wednesday all! ✨
A moment for this living room and the magic of styling! ✨
Project Jackson was a large renovation (designed by the talented .interiordesign), that I was lucky to be a part of in the sourcing/styling of the finishing pieces!
Styling is so impactful in really bringing everything together and making a new space feel like home. A nested home, if you will 😉
📸: (who doesn’t love a sneaky little action shot? 😘)
I’m still here guys! And I’m really excited to start sharing a couple of new projects with you that have been keeping me busy behind the scenes during the design phase ☺️
One of them is a laundry/mudroom combo which will have lots of cool and custom details. I’m really feelin’ a darker palate on that one with lots of natural elements to warm/soften it up 🤎
Stay tuned to hear more about the others next week! Hope everyone has a great weekend ☀️🤍
Ps. Love this cute little entryway shot from Project Stonehouse

One of my favourite parts about styling is finding spots for clients to display pics of their friends/family ✨
This particular display was all the client’s idea though as she had visions of displaying her 3 hockey boys along this wall in their mudroom *chefs kiss*
The key with family photos though is not to overdo it! And to have a good mixture of other forms of artwork to display as well. There’s lots to consider: size/scale, location, variation, colour, height, visual balance, which walls to display artwork on and which ones to leave as they are…
Furniture and decor sourcing and styling is all part of our Full-Service Design offering so rest assured, if you feel lost in this department - I got you 🤍
This piece from is also a show stopper and a nice functional addition to the room!

A sweet little moment at the end of a long hallway ✨
It’s easy to forget about spaces like these when decorating.. but this little vignette does a great job of drawing your attention down the hallway and adding some warmth to an otherwise overlooked little space.
Hope everyone had a great weekend! We finallyyyyy had some sunshine this weekend☀️.. and we were lucky to spend most of yesterday basking in it while skating and playing some shinny on the lake! 🏒
I, for one, will be okay with seeing more of the sun as we inch slowly towards springtime ☀️🌿🌷
Happy Monday all! 🤍
This was a little project from last weekend that my husband was thrilled to participate in. 😇
Installing gallery walls can be tricky when you’re going without a template and all different sized frames (😮💨). But we managed (see: laser level as project MVP), and now the next step is to fill them up!
I used to have picture ledges here but tbh, I was never thrilled with how it worked in the space (or maybe I was just ready for a change). This gallery wall has added a nice little feel + some glam to this hallway (which you can see from the main living area). I also realized I probably haven’t photographed this part of my house much - so here it is! ✨
I always love when home projects double as practice for client projects 🙌🏼.. I have designed + ordered frames for a pretty large gallery wall that we will be installing in a clients’ home soon. Stay tuned for that!
Happy Friday everyone 🤍
Nothing beats happy clients content with their new space 🖤
This testimonial is a longy but a goody and I’m so grateful to be able to work with such amazing clients!

Testimonial as written in image above:
“Our kitchen and living room have unique features in our beautiful old home, but they were dark rooms, not well laid out and not inviting.
We knew working with Teresa was the right decision from our first meeting. Her insightful questions, excitement for the design possibilities and realistic suggestions made the process seem doable.
We never felt pressured to choose a specific service or design piece and appreciated her patience to answer questions and provide options to meet our budget.
Teresa was transparent every step of the way and we received continuous and timely communication and updates.
We hoped to make these two rooms flow better and meet parents and children’s needs, and Teresa exceeded our expectations. We now spend all of our time in two rooms that were rarely used.
Thank you, Teresa!”
There’s something about getting things up on the wall that really changes the feel of a space, am I right?💫
This is a space that had been recently renovated (designed by the talented .interiordesign) and I was lucky to become involved and take the lead on the furniture and decor sourcing, ordering and styling (a service I offer - hit me up if interested! 😉). These are just a few iPhone photos I snapped - but we did manage to get a photoshoot done after our last styling day (😮💨). Those photos are to come.
The decorating part of any job is one of my favourite stages.. it really does take a space from “newly renovated” to “home” in what feels like no time (well, to the client it feels that way - and that’s the goal!)
Tell me - who has bare walls because they’re afraid to take the leap and put things up? Or is it that you just don’t know what/how/where to hang things? (I know you’re out there 👀). Let me know below!
Hope everyone is having a great Monday 🤍
Framed prints 🙌 (finally)
Today is all about decorating for Christmas - with 2 helpers, since my oldest 2 are home from school for a PD day. Mother Nature decided today was a good day for the first snowfall of the year and the kids are V excited about it ❄️☺️ (and of course our 11 year old pooch is happy to be snoozing the day away 🐾)
Thought I’d give these photos a moment since I’ve had another random stock photo family hanging in our living room for months 👨👩👦
Photography is by the lovely 🤍
Frames are a score. For reference, they are 25x25” frames matted to an 11x14 photo ✨
Happy Friday all 🤍🤍
Who loves a good image board? 🙋♀️
Image boards can be so helpful.. both for the client to be able to better see the overall design concept + proposed aesthetic of a space, but also for the designer during the creative process so that he/she can better visualize how certain pieces will work together and how the whole space will feel and flow.
Image boards are a must for me when putting together a design and making selections of any kind. Whether I’m looking at flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, tile, furniture, paint colors, artwork.. I always love to see how it all looks together! Plus, it’s an important step in the presentation process ☑️
The first 2 pics here are a furniture/design concept (+ sourcing) for a client’s primary bedroom (cue feminine/romantic vibes ✨), and the last pic is for her guest space, which will primarily be used by her grandsons.
What do you think??
Hope everyone is having a great start to the week! 🤍
Happy November everyone! 🤍
I’m not really a decorate-1st-of-November kinda gal, but am slowly accepting/starting to get excited about Christmastime and all the magic it brings✨
Lots on the docket this week including:
- Finishing up a big sourcing job (Project Esson St) to be presented next week
- Continuing with product purchasing on 2 other projects in their final stages of furnishing/styling
- Image boards + sourcing for a small 2 bedroom job
- Discovery call for a new lead 💃🏼
- Site visit at Project Luxe Loo to check progress + review microcement color options (install is next week!)
- Hockey tournament Friday for my oldest daughter 🏒
Hope everyone is having a good week (and had a great Halloween 👻!)
Now I gotta know.. who’s getting their Christmas stuff out and who is avoiding at all costs til into Dec??🎄
✨One of my favourite things about having people over is that it forces you to tidy/clean your disaster house beforehand (sometimes..). That was the case for me this weekend and somehow everything just feels calmer 😌 - anyone else?
I was also able to deliver a ton of collected items to a client for an upcoming styling project! One of the items was the olive tree pictured here. The tree that my 3-year-old looked at and said “why dis tree have pickles on it, mama?” 🥹 Stay tuned in the coming weeks to see where the pickle tree ends up!
Happy Monday all!
Moody powder room reveal ✨
I’ve made some changes in my powder room at home and am really digging the moody vibe in here now 🖤
Dark lime-painted walls (and ceiling), mixed metals, candle sconces, antique wooden mirror, framed art (art still to come) and picture light = chefs kiss 😘. Love when a vision comes together!
Who’s into the moody vibes these days? And who remembers or wants to see the before??
⭐️Stonehouse Project - Living Room Reveal!⭐️
I was finally able to get the renovated spaces at Project Stonehouse properly photographed by so I’m excited to share ☺️
The client’s main issue with the living room was the darkness and also how to layout furniture because of how the dining nook juts into the space. I was told this was the least used room of the house because it just was not welcoming! 🙅♀️ (see the last photo for the before)
One of the most impactful changes we made was painting out the dark, shiny, tongue and groove ceiling. Game changer! 💥 The texture and interest of the tongue and groove is still there, but painting it a nice, soft white brightened and updated the room immensely. We also added stone-to-wall built-ins on either side to ground the fireplace and improve function with TONS of additional storage space (as we know: old farmhouse = limited storage! Win-win).
The other game changer? Being thoughtful about the style, size and placement of furniture. The fireplace now makes sense as the centre/focal point of the room and we also managed to find a place for a sentimental furniture piece and family photos, which was important to them (peek the hutch in the first photo!).
What do we think?? 👀
Do you have a space in your home that is under-used because you feel it just doesn’t reflect your style? Maybe it doesn’t feel cozy or welcoming?
Not all projects have to be huge renovations to be impactful. Sometimes it’s just about carefully curated items, re-thinking layout/furniture placement, and updating colours/textures and lighting💫
If this type of project interests you, send me a message! 📧 I would love to chat.

🚨New Project Alert: Bathroom Re-Design at A la Mode Cafe and Ice Cream Shop ☕️🍦 (the best local cafe around)
…and we’re calling the project “Luxe Loo” because choosing names for projects is hard! 🚽
The goal for Project Luxe Loo? Transform the existing bathroom into a room that serves its practical purposes (in style), but also leaves a lasting impression on cafe visitors. With timeless design always at the forefront, we will ensure that the space is in keeping with all of the other charming elements of this century-old building, while still embracing modern aesthetics and maintaining accessibility in a small space 🙌
(note: this picture is from the cafe - one of many spots with this beautiful exposed brick ✨)
📸 Behind the Scenes
Stay tuned for updates about the progress at Project Luxe Loo as I embark on not only the design and implementation of this project, but also to actually post about it. Lol?
I couldn’t be more excited about this one.. not least of all because it happens to be my sister’s cafe 🥰
Stay tuned!
Having happy clients is really what it's all about ✨ (and it’s such a joy to read testimonials like these 🤍)
My objective is always to get to know my clients, how they use their space currently and how they hope to use their space in an ideal world. Then together we work towards a plan, likely making changes and solving problems along the way. ‘Cause that’s the nature of design and renovating and building. It can be unpredictable - and sometimes we pivot and sometimes we make changes, but we always find a way to make it work 💫
The ultimate goal? A happy client who feels at home and at ease in their space.
It's all about that feeling.
🤍🤍🤍
Reach out by email or DM if you have a project you’d like to chat about!
A few more shots of the Stonehouse Project kitchen 💫
One of the biggest changes we made in here was relocating the fridge to the opposite side of the room, incorporating it into the pantry wall (plus swapped out the un-used desk space for a must-have coffee bar ☕️).. All of this created a much more open feel with lots of added function 🙌
The gorgeous prints you see here are from 👀

✨Stonehouse Kitchen Reveal✨
Well - here it is guys!
After / Before of the kitchen portion of Project Stonehouse. I plan on getting some profesh photos done but I couldn’t resist sharing this photo I snapped yesterday after finishing up the styling!
I will share some more soon, but for now - would love to know what you think below! 👇🏼

I mean, I love shopping for my clients… But my problem is wanting to keep it all for myself 😐Practicing some serious self control with this cute little batch of items I picked up yesterday! All the spring things, which is in line with this amazing weather we’ve been having ☀️☀️
Getting so close to the styling stage at ! Can’t wait to show it all to you guys 💫🤍
All items above are from a cute little local shop!
Happy Friday all!
I laughed when we first stood this tree up inside the house 😄. My friend who was standing back observing the raising of the tree said (once it was up), “we don’t think it’s a bit much?”… and we laughed. Because it is. It’s a bit much. But I do really love it 🤍🎄💫
Decorating for Christmas has been a relatively slow and gradual process this year ✨🎄💫
This weekend we finally got the lights up on the tree (had to borrow a friends extra tall ladder for that!), and we added some ornaments. My tree will never be the most elegantly decorated tree in the neighbourhood.. partly because my kids always help and partly because I’m a sucker for sentimental and handmade ornaments! This seems like a “there’s 2 types of people” situation.. I’m curious: which are you??
🎄Team mis-matched/sentimental ornaments
OR
🎄Team unified/cohesive look?
Let me know in the comments!👇🏼👇🏼
My porch can’t quite decide if it’s summer or fall 🌺🌸🌾🍂 .. Still have all my summer planters out because the weather has been nice and they still look too good to toss! ..but also grabbed some mums last week too...
I’m one of those people that takes forever to accept that the summer is gone and fall has arrived. Anyone else?? 🙋♀️
Happy Wednesday all 💫
Hard to believe it’s the same little corner 💫
It’s amazing what some small, thoughtful changes can do to a space.. updated furniture, new frames/artwork and some fresh plants really made all the difference in this primary bedroom 🌱
Note: their new little babe was only in this crib for a short time before graduating to her own room (for those concerned about the hanging plant - she was never big enough to reach for it! ☺️)
