Freshman running back LaMichael James rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns as the Ducks scored 10 unanswered points at the end of the game and ran out the final six minutes. Oregon ended up winning the game by a score of 37-33 and earned a trip to the BCS Rose Bowl to play Ohio State.

The replay showed Reilly went out of bounds on his own, but the call was non-reviewable. The loss ended Michigan State's College Football Playoff hopes.
