Everyone in the Penpedairheol community and wider, send their love and thoughts to Leon Hall’s family and friends. A sad loss, but an honour to all that knew him. Felix, Leon. A friend and his smile, who will always be missed. Rest easy Leon. Xx

A message from Judith Ann Voyle.

We would like to see Cascade (Penpedairheol) ! A village where everyone looks out for each other where our children can grow up without the pressure of the drug dealers or violence, where the next generation will have respect ,show respect and bring back pride into our community. Together we can give our community a chance . Those were the words I wrote on our 1996 Carnival brochure wow where have all the years gone . The group was formed because there was concern at the time for our children and we wanted to try and keep community spirit throughout the Gelligaer Community and as Chairlady with the best team of dedicated people I felt so proud of our achievements over many years and still do today. The Santa parade over 14 years just grew and grew starting off with grotto and then the parade through the villages. The fun we had and the satisfaction of seeing the children made all the hard work and pressure well worth it. It is now more than ever a time for our community to work together we have something special and when you see the effort of different people in our community different groups all trying their best to put something back in it is wonderful. The CascAId Group unfortunately depleted in numbers through no fault of it's own just a thing called age!!!! Yep it comes to all of us and even though the few of us who still want to help our community and keep that spirit going we physically cannot do it on our own . The last Santa parade could not have been done without the help of Rd lewis at that time there were 5 of our group making magic for our community with an estimated over 500 children waiting for Santa and we never let them down. We had planned to organise our float again this year after having a chat with one or two beautiful young ladies but due to Covid and circumstances we could not do it. BUT GOD WILLING we will be getting something sorted for next year. This year though I see we have a visit from Santa being organised and I am so thrilled that this is being done. There is so much we can do and I look forward to having Emily on board to help us on Casc Aid and of course anyone who can spare some time and like me years ago wanted to give a generation memories to look back on it's now time to build more memories for the future. I will be arranging to put photos on year asap to share some of those memories .

Please add all of your carnival pics here! The more the better!!

Welcome to Casc-aid Community Action Group.
Covid-19 has held us all back this year. So many of our plans have been put on hold.
But rest assured we are back! 💪🏼
We will keep you updated with future events and services for our community on this page.

Please share with your friends and family and together we can get our community spirit back to the way it was.

We have lots of new and old ideas. Some plans which I’m sure you and your family will love.

Stay safe everyone. We wish you well 💛
