I have lots of great books on the shelves, but here are *some* that I’m hoping to dig into in 2022. A good variety of authors I love and new ones to me, and the pile is still missing a few things (like something really old and a bit more fiction!), but I’m excited for more reading. Anything you think I should jump into first, or add to the pile?

What a fun way to enter 2022. It was so great to hear stories of people connecting with this song, whether it was kids requesting it over and over from Alexa or the drum cover on YouTube (yeah, that’s a real thing). I’m excited to have some more new music coming out early this year, so stay tuned!

As we sit on the verge of more unknowns for the days ahead and reconsider our in-person plans with friends and family, I think we’re all feeling the desire for more presence. There’s a fun irony that this song has been streamed and connected with people around the world more than 100,000 times. It’s an honour to be an advocate for presence in this brief sea-shanty-Christmas-carol to people I’ll probably never meet. Thanks for listening along friends, I’m deeply grateful!

I’ve been behind on posting, mostly because I’m practicing a LOT of presence with (our 12 week old border collie). Presence is often more work than presents, but it is usually so much better (even if you have to take it out to p*e at 5 AM occasionally 😜).

I also continue to be amazed and deeply thankful for how Presence (spelled with a C) is streaming. Almost 60,000 streams!? 231 playlists?!? 297 steams in Sweden?!?! ( tour, here I come!). Thank you for listening along, and I hope it’s reminding anyone who hears it anywhere around the world 🌍 to spend some more time with their friends and families this year!!

Last Friday, my song “Presence (spelled with a C)” was released. Since then it’s had over 34,000 steams from around the world and been added to more than 96 playlists. To put it in perspective, my entire catalog has 13.5k streams last year, total. It’s been so much fun to hear stories of people connecting with the idea of giving and getting presence instead of presence, and singing along with this fun little sea-shanty-ish Christmas song. I so appreciate everyone who has streamed and shared, and there’s still time to share and add to your Christmas playlists for a chance to enjoy some of amazing Christmas baking!!

Why am I raising money for training and education with Compassion Canada? Because it really, really matters.

If you’ve been a parent or grandparent or friend around school aged kids, you’ll know how hard pandemic digital/distanced learning has been really hard. Like much in these last years, it’s not ideal, but we’re fortunate to have the resources to make the best of it. Now imaging not having ANY schooling for those kids, and imagine the ripple effects that would have in families and communities. That reality is playing out quietly around the world today. What’s even more heartbreaking is that it’s disproportionately affecting girls - eleven million girls are at risk of dropping out of school all together. I have a daughter who loves school, and the idea that girls like her can’t go to school breaks my heart.

Part of the joy of giving more “presence (spelled with a C)” at Christmas is that we all can spend less on gifts, and give a bit more to things that will help others. Will you join me in making a difference and helping more children get a quality education at such a key time? Link in bio!

Such a good quick weekend here in Lethbridge - the generosity of this church always amazes me. 51 kids sponsored in a church that already sponsors more than 400 kids. So thankful to have had this opportunity to come "home" for the weekend before heading "home" to BC and in less than two weeks heading "home" to Ontario. Grateful for the people and places that have shaped us profoundly.
