Concord is an independent creative rights company with divisions for recorded music, music publishing, theatricals and documentary productions. Their recording artist rosters include the likes of Denzel Curry, St Vincent and R.E.M.
To support their rapid expansion, Concord sought a dynamic and assertive new brand identity to reflect their position in the music and creative industry. Drawing from their archives, Bibliothèque crafted a fresh logotype featuring a distinctive R, paying homage to the original Jazz label from which the company originated.
The campaign celebrated their artists and divisions "in perfect harmony" with the use of a cube; which ran internationally across digital platforms.

Posters designed for the Architectural Association School of Architecture (the AA) during my time at the AA Communications Studio (formerly AA Print Studio).
Every January at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, postgraduate students of the school participate in a panel of expert critics, where they present and exchange feedback on their final projects. The programme had been broadcasted live on the AA YouTube channel.
A colourful, fun & open approach to this identity reflects the mood of the school juries. Image courtesy of the AA Communications Studio.

Happy Chinese New Year
As we usher in the Year of the Metal Ox, Chinese New Year greetings are essentially used during gathering. Unlike the New Year celebrations on 1st of January, Chinese New Year celebrations are marked by all sorts of practices that are believed to be auspicious for the upcoming year. We call Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, it is customary for people to greet each other with New Year well-wishes which bring in blessings for the coming year.
Here is the most popular one, “年年有餘”, literally means “Wishing you more abundance every year”. The word “餘” sounds like “魚” meaning “Fish”, thus a new phrase “年年有魚” translated as “Year Year Have Fish”* was created to express the same wishes in a more fun, loving and meaningful way.

Hong Kong has played an essential role in partially shaping Hollywood and the city’s own science fiction cinema, including influencing films such as Blade Runner (1982), the Ghost In The Shell franchise, and 2046 (2004). The three films mentioned all share a notion that has been popularised by David S. Roh, Betsy Huang, and Greta A. Niu, known as techno-orientalism, in which Asia and its culture have been envisioned in 'hypo- or hyper technological terms in cultural productions and political discourse' (Roh, 2010 p.2). From incorporating the disciplines of film studies to explore the mise-en-scène of the said films, have revealed hidden layers of the techno-orientalisation of Hong Kong. The revelations range from the misrepresentations of the culture by fragmenting the Chinese inscriptions in the backdrops of Blade Runner and Ghost In The Shell (2017), to using techno-orientalism as a political commentary in 2046 with dark colour palettes. However, with Hong Kong’s Basic Law (freedom of assembly and freedom of speech) slowly coming to an end, it resulted in fear of its cultural erosion.
Screenplays of a Heterotopic City intends to apply techno-orietanlism’s cultural envisioning in the context of mise-en-scène, to inform filmmakers of both Hollywood and the East not to misrepresent the culture that would aid the process of eroding its identity when techno-orientalising the city. It is done so by using a visual essay to tell a fictional city concerning the political unrest caused by the handover, demonstrating that the notion is not inherently stereotyped. A case study on Hong Kong’s self-orientalisation is also inclusive to ensure the East does not encourage misrepresentations for the lens of Hollywood. Additional voices from Wong Kin Yuen’s essay on Hong Kong’s cityscape informs the audience where research of the city’s historical context, the language it speaks, and the culture it offers are lacking, that the notion would then bring stereotypical elements. Seeing Hong Kong in Hollywood cinema is fascinating and filming the urban landscape of the city is not discouraged, but filmmakers should be aware of unknowingly taking part in the erasure of the identity.

Year Year Have Fish (年年有魚)
The Lunar New Year greeting: 年年有餘 (nin4 nin4 jau5 jyu4), is a phrase to wish people with good fortune every year. This packet attemps to alter the character “餘” (surplus) to “魚” (fish), as both of the pronunciations sound and mean alike. Fish in Chinese culture often means wealth and abundance. The phrase is popular amongst the Chinese, Hongkongers, Taiwanese, Chinese Singaporeans and Malaysian Chinese. The packet contains three soy sauce containers.
These good luck packets are available through my email, DM, or from a short period of time
Please Note: The packets are not for consuming.
The Cantonese phrase: Duk Sei Syu (讀死書), or the word-to-word meaning — Study Die Book, is imprinted onto stationaries to mock Hong Kong’s rigid education system that the local students have been facing.
A lot of unfortunate students do not have mental support and teenage su***de rates are high in Hong Kong, as they literally study to death.
A tremendous thank you to the Intern for this spotlight feature and interview!

My fellow Hongkongers at home have been protesting under the extreme heat since last month, meanwhile the government officials are sitting in their offices with air conditioning ignoring their people's voices.
We, the people of Hong Kong, do not want the extradition law to be passed. This is because we don't want China's flawed judicial system affecting us.
Activists are missing in China, Hong Kong booksellers abducted and freedom of speech dying. Please spread the message. Thank you!

Xianlu Yi, Artist book for Grass (Poem by Kim SuYong), Datz Press, 2019. The poet has become a symbol of freedom and revolution during the democratization of Korea. “Grass” was his last poem, and references grassroots movements and the tenacious vitality of the masses: the idea that grass can lie down faster and rise faster than the wind.
