Cops vs Xcons is an explosive MMA concept! We have a following of fighters & active police officers who are excited to fight. cxcpro.com @cxcpromotions X-cons.
As the sport of boxing continues to be plagued by watered down divisions, a surplus of championship belts, lack of big name fighters and scandalous decisions, America has turned its attention to the sport of mixed martial arts to fill its fight fix. Mixed martial arts or MMA is part boxing, part wrestling and part any number of martial arts disciplines. Due to the wide variety of styles that MMA f
ighters possess, the action is fast, furious and — unlike boxing — seldom unfolds the same way twice. Since its inception the 1993, MMA’s fan base has grown exponentially. The sport has become so popular that December’s Ultimate Fighting Championship 92 took in almost $3.5 million at the gate and close to another $25 million in pay-per-view sales. Now, Marshal Muniz is looking to elevate MMA fighting to its next level of evolution with Cops vs. The CXC president’s concept is simple, and has a brilliant appeal to fight fans. Weather its comic books, movies or video games, people love the dynamic of ‘good vs. evil.’ And in today’s society, what represents the two sides better than police and former criminals? There’s a reason that World Wrestling Entertainment still pulls in several hundred million dollars a year, fans are entertained by the heroes and villains. Cops vs. X-cons promises to be even more compelling to fans, because the storylines remain, but the action is real. Equally promising is the cult following that already exists for the event online. A quick Google search brings up more than a dozen mixed martial arts message boards where CXC is discussed. CXC has even made it onto some of the mainstream sites – like FOXsports.com -- where an entire thread has been dedicated to the idea. There is an overwhelming number of MMA fans hoping to see this event become a reality. The fan base already exists -- and for good reason -- police officers know how to throw down. The emergence of MMA in this country has even created an interesting quandary. Because of the sports vastly growing popularity, more and more people are being exposed to the various techniques and moves of MMA fighting. Included in the group is the criminal element. An article on lawofficer.com suggests that because of this phenomenon, police officers need to be equally diligent in their study of mixed martial arts moves. Grappling, in particular, is a concern for peace officers, because a study showed that 21 percent of such incidents end with the criminal reaching for the officer’s gun. While that creates some scary moments for officers on the beat, it cultivates a dream scenario for fight fans. Police officers train year round in preparation for anything the criminal element may throw at them, with many looking into a number of martial arts disciplines and wrestling techniques. Heck, a number of officers have left the force completely to compete fulltime in MMA. What better forum for officers to display the toughness society associates with them than in an MMA competition? As for the cons, there is no shortage of fighters with a criminal history. Many athletes who make their livings fighting, once honed the abilities on the mean streets. And the odds are that those altercations have led to one or two run-ins with the law. While a number of names could highlight this event, no fighter may be more perfect for it than Mike Tyson. Is there a scarier image of a fighter or angry criminal than Tyson? There’s a reason the guy was once dubbed ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet.’ Anyone who has ever seen the ferocity with which the former champ fought would likely hesitate before stepping into an arena with him. The former heavyweight champ’s boxing career was derailed after a r**e conviction in 1992. Tyson was never able to regain his championship form after that, but his ability to draw audiences and big-ticket fights never waned. Whether signing on with CXC as a fighter or a spokesman, Tyson would be a good fit. The former champ’s financial troubles — culminating with his filing for bankruptcy in 2003 — have been well documented. Plus, Tyson can’t be pleased with how he walked away from boxing. The former champ dropped three of his last four contests, including his final bout where he threw in the towel against Kevin McBride just before the start of the seventh round. Tyson has been completely out of the limelight since 2005, but the odds are the 42-year-old could still more than hold his own in a fighting venue. Another name being tossed around with then event is MMA superstar Kimbo Slice. With CXC likely introducing the first ever tag-team MMA fight, the Tyson/ Slice pairing could be the dream ticket. Regardless of whether Tyson or Slice get involved, CXC promises to be every bit as a big as a heavyweight prize fight. The opening ceremonies will likely be held in Las Vegas and T-shirts can already be purchased at www.cxcpro.com. MMA is increasing in popularity and membership and CXC is the next step in that growth. Don’t miss out.
