California Bass Anglers. Something new for the off season. I’ve been doing long range fishing for 20 years in the summer. I have a three day leaving July 15th thru the 18th. 1650 per person. If you are interested call me. 209-598-4079. Boat is Polaris Supreme. Few spots left. Lots of big fish being caught right now. Spots filling up fast. Thank you Vince Borges from phenix rods. Call me with questions.
Today I received bad news. Larry Wilson passed away. Larry was the So Cal tournament director and president of the California Bass Federation for many years. This was very sudden and the family has set up a Gofundme to help with expenses. I’ve know Larry for years and every time I drive by long tule at Clearlake I will think of you. 🥲🥲🥲
Randy pierson and jeff green California Bass Federation 2024 champions. Next stop NSF. CONGRATS.
Day one in the bag. Boater and non boater results. Good luck everyone.
These 2 grew up together. Fishing with their dads and then tournaments. They fished youths/high school events through out the state as a team. Qualified every year to travel back east. This year they competed against each other as Co Anglers in the California Bass Federation delta region. When the dust settled Max Kaneko by one point squeezing above Sam Shimabuko for angler of the year. Nice job this year you two. Josh Kaneko and Tom Shimabuko you got 2 great kids. Look out everyone. There next stop is New Melones for the State Championship in 2 weeks.
California Bass Federation anglers. TOC letters will be mailed Thursday 5/16. If you don’t see anything by Tuesday please contact me. There is a change, we will not be fishing Shasta and have moved to New Melones June 13/14.
Just a reminder. Clearlake entries due Monday by 5pm. Delta and motherlode region.

Just an FYI fir anglers fishing Pardee this weekend. Boaters be sure to have your busted clean and dry and also your mussel stamp. They are really looking at dirty live wells and scum on the sides. If you pre fish this weekend end be sure to have your boat strapped on the way out. Good luck everyone.

Don’t forget to get your entires in by this coming Monday for the tournament at Bass Lake on March 30th.

Region 2 had our second tournament of 2024 yesterday at Pine Flat Lake. Everybody talked about a good reaction bite during the week but this cold front we are going through must have changed things. Seems like the majority of the field had a spinning rod in hand aside from a couple of A-rig fish that were weighed in. Next tournament is at Bass Lake on March 30th. Here are the top three from yesterday.
Anglers
1st place- Tim Wells Sr 14.16lbs with a 4.04lb big fish.
2nd place- Eddie Hinojosa 11.65lbs
3rd place- Tom Loya 10.69lbs
Co-Anglers
1st place- Mong Thoa 10.65lbs with a 2.46 big fish.
2nd place- Ron Orbaker 9.97lbs
3rd place- Mike Gaston 8.58lbs
Region 2 top three results for Millerton this weekend.
Boaters
1st place Mark Corrente 9.11 lbs
2nd place Tom Loya 7.79 lbs
3rd place Eddie Hinojosa 7.28 lbs
Big Fish Brian Herman 2.59 lbs
Co-Anglers
1st Place Ron Orbaker 10.39 lbs
2nd place Cheng Seechan 6.97 lbs
3rd place Mike Gaston 5.98 lbs
Big Fish Ron Orbaker 3.02 lbs
Millerton is fishing like the old days right now. This time last year you had to have at least 14 or 15 pounds to win an event here. The water is coming up really fast and the consensus is that it is affecting the bite. Guys had to fish really really slow with finesse techniques and I did not hear of anyone catching reaction fish aside from one decent A-rig fish. The bigger fish are hard to find right now but the weather is also changing rapidly and this place is about to go off!
On a side note...
We only had 9 boats for this tournament and each boat had a co-angler in it. We lost a few boats to the WON tournament at Shasta. CBF is sending the top 20 boaters and top 20 co-anglers to the State Tournament at Shasta in June of this year. We still have three tournaments remaining in this season and anyone who fishes three can earn a spot at the TOC no matter where you finished in points. The next tournament is in two weeks at Pine Flat and entries have to be to me by this coming Monday February 5th.
Please get ahold of me if you are interested in finishing out this season and qualifying for the State TOC.

Region 6 held its first tournament of the year at famed El Capitan.
The winning weight on the pro side was 15.50. Richard Vincent who is trying to recapture the AOY championship, said he used homemade jigs (brown) and his homemade umbrella rig. Definitely reach out to Rich he makes great umbrella rigs you can purchase.
The big fish of the day went to Erin Crist. He landed an 8.46lb behemoth without a net. He did make six laps around his boat to do so......but he got it.
The winning weight on the Co-angler side was 13.31lbs. Jumpei Kato used a thin senko and Texas rigged worm fished slow in 20 feet of water.
Not to bad for winter fishing in tiny San Diego lakes.
Region 4 tournament results are on the website under results.

Good luck tomorrow everyone. Camanche check in by 6am north shore. Gates open at 5am.
Happy New Year!!
First tournament of the season for Region 2 California Bass Federation is coming up on January 28th at Lake Millerton.
I will again be the Region 2 Tournament Director and am here to answer any questions you may have.
The 2024 schedule is posted on the website but I am going to try and make some changes to avoid some conflicts with other circuits. January will remain on January 28th but this is what I am looking at for the remaining 3 tournaments after that:
Saturday February 10th - Pine Flat
Saturday March 16th - Bass Lake
Saturday April 13th - Lake McClure
I am going to try and confirm these dates by the end of the week. I am hoping that by doing this, more anglers will have a better chance of making it out.
If your not familiar with the California Bass Federation, it is a boater/non-boater format so the boaters fish against the boaters and the non-boaters fish against the other non-boaters. It is a great way for non-boaters to get their feet wet in tournament fishing.
In order to compete in the California Bass Federation you have to be a member of an affiliate club. Most of this region signs up with Mark Corente with Bass101. When you sign up with Mark you can pay your membership with Both Bass101 and California Bass Federation at the same time. You can also fish both circuits. You can get ahold of Mark at (559)284-2768.
Text or call me at (559)331-4920 if you have any questions. The rules can be found here: https://californiabass.org/tour-rules/
Region 2!!
I will probably be making some changes to the 2024 schedule to avoid some conflicts with other circuits. This change will probably include some Saturday events.
The tournament on January 28th will remain in place.
Stay tuned.
The schedule for 2024 is posted on our California Bass Federation website. Its for all the regions.
