Herman Brown Free Library Summer Reading Program
The 2019 Summer Reading Program, sponsored in part by the Friends of Herman Brown Free Library, resulted in a total of 2,110 hours being read by the young members of this program. Teens and tweens logged a jaw-dropping 39,611 pages! Way to go, Burnet County youth!
Sincere thanks to other sponsors and volunteers who helped make this summer library program a total success: the Texas State Library, P.E.C., Pizza Hut, Subway, Chick-fil-A, Chicken Express, Whataburger, Taco Bell, Dominoes, Dairy Queen, Unshakable Grounds, Mojo Coffee, Showbiz Cinema, and HEB.

New at Herman Brown Free Library!
New items added to Burnet Library's collection...
Time for the summer reading program! The Herman Brown Library and Bertram Library have teamed up for a stellar kick-off event featuring an INDOOR PLANETARIUM.
Join us Thursday, May 30 at the Burnet County Agri-Life Center, 607 N. Vandeveer St., in Burnet.
Stars and Science Austin will present awe-inspiring programs for ages 3-7 at 10:00 am and 2:30 pm and for ages 7 up at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Each show is approximately one hour in length.
There will also be space-themed activities available throughout the event and participants can register for the summer programs at either the Herman Brown Library or the Bertram Library. Registration packets for the Texas Summer Reading Program will be available at the library beginning Friday, May 31.

It's Coffee Talks time! Mike Cox is our featured author this month, Thursday, 14 March. Meet and greet the author from 1:30-2; have some refreshments -- coffee from Hey Di**le Di**le catering, and cookies from the Friends of Herman Brown Free Library. Then, settle in for an interesting hour from 2-3 pm as historian Mike Cox tells us about the Texas Capitol.
