Every day, Christ Child Society Pasadena members open their hearts to help children and families build better futures. We also help area schools in need.

Through fundraising and hands-on service projects, we offer layettes for newborns, food, shoes for children, and emergency services. The Christ Child Society of Pasadena kicked off its 90th year as a chapter of the National Christ Child Society with a Fall Mass. Founded in 1933 at Mayfield School, there were 15 initial members who knitted layettes for newborn infants in underserved communities. This chapter has grown to 365 members and is one of the largest chapters in the country. Under a canopy of oaks, Reverend Marcos Gonzalez of St. Andrew’s parish blessed the new Board and the Christ Child members. A cake made the celebration complete!

Our very generous member, Judy Brooks, has purchased 18 books – one in the name of each of her grandchildren. What a great idea! Will you accept the challenge of following her example for Make A Difference Day – our National Day of Service?
No grandchildren? No problem! Your children, Godchildren, nieces, nephews and other special children in your life are just as perfect! Don’t forget to write a quick “Donated in honor of ___(your special person’s name)___” note on the inside panel if you would like.
New infant board books will be placed in newborn layettes that are distributed to low-income mothers and babies in the San Gabriel Valley. New and gently-used children’s books will be donated to 17 low-income parish schools within the San Gabriel Valley – most of which do not have a library. Washington DC is having great success with their virtual book drive. Look for an email soon to let all chapters know who to go about creating one on Amazon! Remember - Make A Difference: Read to Me is on October, 28th and book drives are a great way to focus on literacy.
We were so excited with one box and then the mailman came back with 80 more books! The virtual book drive is officially off to a wonderful start!
