Changes are coming to Cranky Pete's!

First, some behind the scenes stuff. Recently I was informed that someone had a bottle of our liquid that had some sort of particulate in it. Upon investigation of the bottle itself and the filling bottle used for this batch, I discovered that some paper towel lint had migrated from the top of the filling bottle during the bottling process. As a result of this, I will be immediately switching to task wipes, which are sterile and specifically designed to not leave lint or other extractables behind.

This isn't something I necessarily need to tell everyone. I've already spoken with both the customer and the retailer, and the situation is resolved. But my first priority with Pete's is to make the best product possible and to be open with my customers. Quite frankly if I can't provide an excellent product that I'm proud of, I'll stop production immediately.

There's also been a disturbing number of revelations about the cleanliness of various e-liquid producers, lately. As both a v**er and a producer, I think it's important to know that what we're putting into our bodies is not being made in someone's shed, bathtub, or basement. So I'd like to take the opportunity to be clear that Pete's is mixed and bottled in a food-grade lab used solely for e-juice production. We will be switching to glass bottles (more on that in a bit) in part because I am more confident about the sterilization and handling of glass bottles. Plastic can be sterilized, of course, but it's more likely to absorb flavors and odors, which is why we're switching to glass mixing and storage components as well. We'll also be implementing "mixed on" dates and batch identification on each bottle as well. That'll let you know how long the product has been steeping, and will help us trace any potential issues that may arise back to the source.

I realize that I've said on many occasions that Pete hates dripper bottles. For good reason - they suck in many ways. But remember that thing about wanting to make the best product possible? Well, you need glass for that. Flavor and ni****ne are more stable in glass, which means a better v**e. Which means I'm eating my words about plastic and Pete's is going glass.

So there you have it! We'll continue to evolve to ensure that we're selling the best product we know how. Look for our new bottles soon, and a huge thank you to everyone who has tried Pete's and enjoyed our product. We absolutely love the feedback. Hearing from satisfied v**ers is why Cranky Pete's exists!
