Got an update on Candy this years pup, she hates those c**n. I always think it's cute to see little ones show little to no fear.
Meet Tucker and Kash! We bought these pups about 8 weeks ago they are littermates. They were 12 weeks old when we got them. They are 5 months old right now, they have great drive and have been great to work with. They love to learn! They are both holding steady and retrieving to hand, can't ask for more than that at such a young age. This is the second time we have done a 4 bird hunt with each of them.
Well Saturday we did something new, a crawfish boil. We had it shipped up from Louisiana. Thanks to everyone who came out for the feast. Thanks to Bryce for being in charge of the boiling! Who new he could cook😂! It was very good. We had just over 50 adults come and give it a try. Thanks everyone!
As you all know we lost our Ruby recently, she ran her first c**n with her Aunt Candy. Little Candy made it to Missouri yesterday to meet her sister Ruby. Ruby is 2 yrs old and out of the same parents, Irish and Ruby. Jim wanted an pup trainer last fall so we let him have Candy. Jim ended his c**n season with over 100 c**n hunting his Ruby and our old Candy who passed in February. Now Ruby has to carry the torch and teach little Candy. Some call this full circle.
These puppies love to explore. They all go to their new homes next weekend. Hope everyone is ready.
In order left to right, Derric, Tom, Paul, Kyle, and Kevin had a productive day over on Lake Michigan. Now I have to start my smoker. YUM!
Finally, some days without rain so the "Littles" can enjoy the outdoors. Just better hang on though, pretty windy!
Rest in peace "Sweet Ruby" you will be forever in our hearts.
Pups sure like their vittles. Getting fat and sassy!
The Littles after morning breakfast. Getting to be very active.
Puppies are doing good, growing like they should considering the start.
Ruby had her puppies Sunday night. 3 boys and 2 girls. Was very eventful as we ended up having a c-section and lost 2 puppies. Always sad. She and the remaining 5 are doing great. All are spoken for.
Got my bird this afternoon! Fun hunt, always exciting.
Not a usual post. As we have had incredibly cold days I have been using hand and foot warmers a lot. If you only use them for a short time put them in a zip lock baggie and you can reuse them! Only for the amount of time they are rated/good for. I have reused them with this hack and it works. Save some money. Stay Warm!!
Tom finally got a 28lb. beaver on his trap line. He was very fortunate to have found an "expert" trapper that took him under his wing to show him some tips and tricks. Big thanks to Don Vogel for his time and knowledge. Hopefully more to come.
Happy New Year!!
Did pretty good for a snowy hunt today! Better than rain I guess. Always interesting.
Reba, a pup from River and Irishs litter this year got to run her first cat today. Great job!
Merry Christmas!
Charly on a tree. Love the deep chop!
Here's Charly, Banjo and Irishes pup getting it done in short time. 4 in a 1hour.
Tom and Big Tom getting some c**n last night! Good job fellas!
This is Rudy, one of Rivers pups from this years litter. He has been training him for tracking. He has been out on a couple of recoveries. Great job!
Haven't been out very much but decided to go last night. 8 c**n for Irish and Bugsy! Not to bad.
Went to scout some public land for c**nhunting and look what was by the parking lot. Maybe we should load up the bird dogs instead!
Had our first guide today at Oasis Game farm. It was hot but the dogs did great considering, we had lots of water breaks. All 6 dogs got a turn. Nice pre wedding hunt, wedding is tomorrow.
I have lots of pheasants available if any of you have bird dogs! Great for getting dogs ready for the upcoming season. Also good eating!
Here is Reds latest achievements he is also a service dog helping veterans. Way to go! Redbones aim to please.
Rooster the big boy we had to rehome is doing great things! He officially became a therapy dog. Congratulations Petra and Rooster!
"Reba" (Otis's sister)who went to live in Wyoming to be a cat dog, looks like she is enjoying western living. She is fitting right in with the "non reds".
