Current Undocumented/DACA Students - Seattle Pacific University
President Dan Martin sent an email to our SPU community regarding DACA, in case you haven't seen it here is some info...
"Beginning Monday, October 2, Multi-Ethnic Programs will again host weekly, confidential meetings for undocumented students to gather for mutual support and share concerns and questions. Students are welcome to come to any or all of these meetings as their schedules allow. Please encourage any DACA student you know to contact Susan Okamoto Lane, dean of multi-ethnic and wellness programs, at [email protected] or 206-281-2598 for more information.
We have also created a website for undocumented and DACA students that includes local and national resources, information about financial aid and scholarships, as well as an opportunity for them to share their stories with us.
As a reminder of the protections already in place for all of our students and particularly our DACA students, Seattle Pacific complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and will not disseminate educational records to government agencies without student consent or as required by law or judicial process."
There is also a link on the SPU site... http://spu.edu/current-students/undocumented-students?utm_source=SPU+Internal+Contacts&utm_campaign=06653b7cff-DACA_Email_From_President&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_046d7d63d0-06653b7cff-51136737
spu.edu Seattle Pacific University has a number of undocumented and DACA students who are among the most hardworking and talented young people on our campus. They contribute greatly to the life and mission of the university, and Seattle Pacific is a stronger institution because of their presence.
