We are SO sad to miss you this weekend, Atlanta!! Praying for everyone’s safety ❄️
If you don’t know what happening here… well, you missed it 😩 BUT the good news is we are meeting again this Sunday! Youth group night will be downstairs in the youth room at 6… you don’t want to miss it!
Lake day on Saturday!!! Who’s gonna be there if the weather clears up for us??!
We had a great evening last night watching A Week Away! We learned you can’t show a movie outside before it gets dark, so had to move it inside… we learn from our mistakes, right ☺️
If you haven’t seen A Week Away yet, it is available on Netflix. It is full of 90s Christian songs, which makes it fun for the adults, but had a great message about having confidence in who you are and how much God loves you!
Make your calendars… our next youth event is at Lake Allatoona for a lake day! Save the date for Sat July 10… more details coming soon!
Mark you calendars for Youth Family Movie Night coming up on June 13 from 6-8p! We will be watching “A Week Away” together out on the field, complete with popcorn and drinks. Students invite your parents and siblings, bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and we will see you out on the lawn!
Hey OMC students!! Just a quick note of encouragement as y’all are finishing up this school year. Hang in there! The end is in sight! It’s been a tough year with all of the regulations and changes in policies etc, but you will never regret sticking it out and finishing STRONG! We know the end of the school year is crazy, so we won’t be joining together again until June, but know the leaders are encouraging you from afar and praying for you.
We have several fun summer events planned, so stay tuned here for those dates and details. But also, make sure you stay connected via text... text “” to 81010
Youth Christmas Party!
How many saltines can you fit in your mouth?
On Mission Students Kicks off the new school year this coming Sunday, Aug 19th.
Checked out The Compassion Experience tonight. On Mission Students will be sponsoring Davmylove from Haiti. Spoiler alert, On Mission Students will be doing a Missions trip next summer. My pick for destination is Haiti. Would be pretty cool to meet Davmylove while we are there...if that’s where we go.
I’d say we are ready!
Saturday June 9 from 10-5, On Mission Youth will spend some time fellowshipping at Lake Allatoona! Join us if you can! Day at the Beach: http://evite.me/fzQY9CNaaM

Today On Mission students helped prepare informational folders for the organization Rescuing Hope. The folders will be distributed to a few hundred hotel owners and will provide information on how to spot s*x trafficking (40% of s*x trafficking in the US occurs in hotels) . Our students also heard an age appropriate talk on how to be careful on social media and the importance of sharing and keeping open lines of communication with their parents. Great morning of helping to make a positive impact !
Next week we will begin a short series on our uniqueness...KEEP IT WEIRD!
If you’ve ever watched a circus, Cirque du Soleil, or America’s Got Talent, then you’re probably convinced that humans are capable of some pretty amazing things . . . and some pretty bizarre stuff too. Seeing these things, you might have wondered: Should joints really bend that way? or Is it normal for a grown man to be that into puppets? But the reality is, we all have things that make us different. And, especially in middle school, there’s a lot that can make us feel weird. When God created human beings, He made us to be different—different from the rest of creation and different from one another. In this series, we’ll discover that “keeping it weird” is a good thing. After all, what makes us weird is what makes us both valuable and wonderful.
This Sunday our If/Then series kicks off...

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
COLOSSIANS 3:12 NIV
Nothing seems to distract as quickly as comparison. It takes our focus away from what God’s put in front of us and moves it instead to what God has put in front of someone else. The result? We’re never happy with what we have. That sure doesn’t sound like a pleasant way to live! Rather than let yourself be distracted by comparison, focus your attention on what God’s put in front of you. Ask a friend or Small Group Leader to help you stay focused this week.
If you’ve ever known someone suffering from an illness like cancer, then you know how difficult it can be on the body. It’s painful, all consuming, and difficult to defeat. Comparison can have that same impact on us. Trying to measure up can make you feel like you’re being eaten up on the inside. The good news is God hasn’t left us without a cure. A peaceful heart is the key to a healthy life, and the best way to help our hearts stay at peace is by filling them with God’s Word. This week, try memorizing this verse so you can recite it to yourself when you are tempted to compare.
DAY 3 (Wednesday)
One of the most dangerous parts of comparison is the way it breeds jealousy. What starts as a simple thought in your head about the way you measure up next to someone can quickly spin into a mountain of jealousy that, if you’re not careful, will drive a wedge between you and the other person. Simply put: Jealousy has the power to destroy relationships, and no one wants that. Do you find yourself battling jealousy? Pray that God would free both
DAY 2 (Tuesday)
Humility—not being proud and arrogant—is one of the hardest characteristics of faith to put in to practice. It’s not always a natural or easy thing to do. One of the simplest ways we can start practicing humility is simply to serve someone else. A simple act of service can go a long way in helping you exercise and embrace humility. What’s one way you can humbly serve someone in your life this week?
DAY 1 (Monday)
It’s easy to get caught up in the cycle of achievement. Hard work, motivation, doing well—there’s nothing wrong with those things! But Solomon reminded us that when it comes to achievement, we need to check our motivations. If any part of what we’re pursuing is motivated by jealousy or comparison, that pursuit will end without meaning or satisfaction. Is there an area of your life where you’re pursuing success? Pray that God will keep your motives pure as you go.
We Begin tonight...Series #1 Measure Up
