DO WOUNDS IMPACT YOUR PATIENTS WELL BEING? YOUR QUALITY MEASURES? OR YOUR BOTTOM LINE?
Ogenix, a wound care device manufacturer, has developed a topical oxygen treatment for non-healing and chronic wounds called EPIFLO.
Chronic wounds cost money and extensive morbidity. Whether in hospital or nursing the failure of a graft procedure to heal, or a chronic wound, not healing is directly tied to patient satisfaction and readmission rates. EPIFLO can help.
Please consider WHY EPIFLO can help your organization:
EPIFLO topical oxygen treatment for wounds and incisions gives you the advantage of shortening “time to heal” by utilizing a simple platform, allowing for better utilization of your medical staff’s time.
a. EPIFLO is an effective and silent treatment, utilizing the proven wound healing properties of pure oxygen.
b. EPIFLO can be used in any environment, whether in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, or at home after discharge, and requires no power or recharging.
c. EPIFLO is lightweight and easy to use and place on a patient. It does not affect daily activities and patients can be discharged with a device in place, which shortens the length of stay.
d. EPIFLO promotes patients’ wellness, and ultimately patient satisfaction scores.
e. EPIFLO provides effective, lowest-cost oxygen therapy available in the wound care market.
f. EPIFLO is FDA-cleared.
g. We offer a wound measurement APP which is also FDA-cleared and can be bundled with EPIFLO.
Ogenix wants to show you the EPIFLO technology and the benefits of its use. We will provide a no-cost trial to you to prove the efficacy and value to your organization.

Chronic Wounds: How Can We Change the Course of Treatment?

A recently published article by CK Sen says that "A 2018 retrospective analysis of Medicare beneficiaries identified that ∼8.2 million people had wounds with or without infections. Medicare cost estimates for acute and chronic wound treatments ranged from $28.1 billion to $96.8 billion. Highest expenses were for surgical wounds followed by diabetic foot ulcers, with a higher trend toward costs associated with outpatient wound care compared with inpatient. Increasing costs of health care, an aging population, recognition of difficult-to-treat infection threats such as biofilms, and the continued threat of diabetes and obesity worldwide make chronic wounds a substantial clinical, social, and economic challenge." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6389759/

Currently, treatment of chronic wounds is performed in many venues including LTAC's, Wound care Centers, Outpatient clinics, nursing homes, Rehab outpatient services, etc. but eventually, the patient has to go home. The COVID-19 pandemic added a burden to many seeking care as it was not available as a result of isolation precautions and staffing shortages. Many patients had worse outcomes as a result of the pandemic adding to the burden of wounds, (CDC.Gov). Additionally, infection rates have increased in hospitals (NHSN, 2022). Numerous comorbidities for wounds exist with the occurrence of diabetes, surgery, osteomyelitis, and morbid obesity.

Telemedicine has gained a foothold in how we manage outpatient services. How can we use this new venue to bring better wound care to our patients? Utilization of telemedicine is growing rapidly and acceptance varies by discipline and State regulations. Ogenix proposes that the patient takes control of their immediate care especially when patients have tried many avenues with poor results.

There are three considerations: To the patient:

1. If you have a physician, ask him to prescribe EpiFlo to help heal your wound faster. You can order directly from Ogenix. See the website: www.ogenix.com. Use the button to order.

The price is small for great results.

2. If you have a caretaker or a home health provider that can help you with your wound, get a telehealth consult and ask for an EpiFlo prescription. You and your home health provider can do the rest. Device will be shipped directly to you.

3. If you have a wound that needs to be debrided or attended to? Consult your primary care provider and ask for a home health visit or contact a telemedicine doc for a referral for home health. Suggest that EpiFlo may be right for you and ask for a prescription. Device will be shipped directly to you.

4. Remember that you, the patient, are in charge of your health, take the next step to a better outcome. The price is small for great results.

Yes in fact wounds DO BREATH and they need oxygen as part of the healing process. EPIFLO can assist by applying oxygen directly to the wound.
