Dear Dad,

This year's Burn posed undeniable challenges with hurdles aplenty. We lost nearly three days of build week. We hand carried bikes stuck in the mud. Unprecedented road closures disrupted our departure from BRC. We experienced a newfound unfamiliarity within Playa time and space. Despite the chaos of the Ebola outbreak and cannibalism reported by the media 🙃, here's what transpired in the world of Dad...

We, as a community of responsible, caring, and fun Dads, came together. We spent time as a family, sharing laughter, playing, and dancing in the mud, all while embodying and upholding the 10 principles. We immersed ourselves in art, music, food, culture, spirituality, profound transformation, and powerful connections.

These captured moments epitomize the ethos of My Dad's House, reflecting the vision and values we've proudly cultivated over the past five years. We're immensely grateful to each of you who played a part in creating this unforgettable experience. We truly built our house 🏠 and our home )’( and none of it would have been possible without your contributions.

📣BAY AREAAAA 📣TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT and we are so honored to bring you the sounds of our fatherly friends.

11pm-12am: Joining us from Broken Compass, Guy Shechter aka Neshima will channel his knowledge and passion for the ever-evolving music scene. .g is a weaver of sonic journeys, drawing inspiration from cultures and landscapes around the globe. “Neshima" means “breath" in Hebrew, the language of Guy's childhood. DJing to him is sonic photosynthesis: “the space and crowd put out a vibe, I breathe that in and try my best to breathe it back out in sonic form."

12am-1am: A huge supporter of My Dads's House and the SF music scene, we have Miles aka Skippy! .flac always comes prepared with records that will inspire nostalgia, left field tracks that will take the room on a journey, or pure bangers that will smash the party. He’s a big fan of breakbeats, acid, and the hardcore, but he doesn’t confine himself to a sound or genre.

1am-2a: Playing b2b we have Spacious, a San Francisco-based music producer, DJ, and visual artist AND .sf cofounder Gypsum, an avid party lover and dance floor activator. .mp3 is focused on bridging the club and art gallery through deep house and hand-made visuals from his street photography and screen prints. Each of his releases urges us to reflect, celebrate, cry, and question the world around us through music and art. .96 facilitates expression on the dance floor through both venue curation and DJing. His musical background ranging from classic and psychedelic rock to 90s hip hop has informed the eclectic selection in his mixes but nothing does it better for him than the sounds of deep minimal house.

WE GOT SOME DADS IN THE HOUSE!

Setting the vibe from 9-10pm, catch CHAOS, an SF-based DJ duo and passion project of our dear dad, Jess and her twin flame, Mari. Named after the ball of energy and utter mayhem they bring to the dancefloor, finds their passion in thumping house beats that balance a niche, organic feel with the chaos of deeper tunes, and classic rap vocals.

Getting funky from 10-11pm will be our Daddy, Slick Disc Willie and his partner in crime, Miami Pete. This dynamic duo has been bringing a mix of funky disco and groovy tech house to Bay Area dance floors since 2018. 80% bangers 100% of the time 💯

Yer Dad, Abi, is a passionate yoga instructor with a trauma-informed and applied Polyvagal Theory lens. She designs vinyasa flow sessions to ground and center, warm and energize, and relax and release. She has a background in environmental policy and activism and is passionate about using yoga to process emotions that might arise in response to planetary crises. Her style is compassionate, space-holding, and encouraging. Abi’s goal is to help people learn about and transform themselves for the better, on and off their mats.

Abi will be offering a private 50-min Vinyasa flow session during our silent auction in which you can stretch out those b***y wiggling muscles.

Meet Sadie, one of our resident Yoga teachers, ensuring all yer dads stay nice and limber. Sadie’s teaching practice is with Oaklanders at Left Coast Power Yoga and with adventure enthusiasts and climbers at the Touchstone Climbing gyms.

will be offering a private, 45-min session, where you can expect to have a yoga asana practice specifically designed to meet your needs. You’ll chat ahead of time about what you’re interested in learning and practicing, map out a sequence specifically for you, and dive deep into yoga philosophy, practice Mayofacial release, learn some breathwork techniques, and do some fun asana practice!

Meet Anna, a Utah-based painter who finds inspiration in the untamed lands of the West. Her work explores both the eternal and fleeting aspects of the landscape, and how our experience shapes them.

She submitted two of her most beloved landscapes in the Utah desert surrounding Moab, where ancient red rock cliffs pierce an impossibly blue sky.
Since she loves to play outside, she also included some running hats for all your sunny summer adventures!

Meet VITA, a Utah-based artist engaging in an ongoing dialogue on reality and the human grasp of it. Intrigued to no end by physical principles of matter, energy, and philosophical positions on metaphysics and the ethereal - she works to create vivid and evocative artworks meant to inspire a sense of awe and curiosity. Through the utilization of intricate brushwork, vivid colorways, and a dedication to fine detail, Vita seeks to create a conversation on energetics and make a note on light frequency as it relates to the perceptivity of the human eye and nervous system.
