We're having difficulty with persons collecting the items they have expressed interest in. Please be aware that we have two admins- one local, one in the US. We try to make accommodations and arrangements for individuals but we cannot be asking people to drive around searching for you then you respond hours later saying drop it there instead or go here and there. I'm sorry, we cannot. We are asking everyone to do better with picking up the items, please!

10/01/2020

Those who have been selected to collect/pick up items please make arrangements to do so by next week otherwise we will have to select the next person. Thank you.

Keep spreading the word and sharing your gifts!

Hi All! Just a reminder of how this page works!

We're asking persons to post items they are willing to give away to someone else who needs it!

We're trying to develop a gifting/generous economy! We can all use a helping hand every now and then!

Personally, today I(US admin) went through my closet and picked out some pieces, will be posting soon once the (Slu admin) gets it.

WE NEED PEOPLE TO POST OTHERWISE THIS GROUP IS NOT GOING TO WORK....OUR HELPING HANDS VISION WON'T COME TO PASS. :(

01/12/2019

It’s SUNDAY!!! We have 120 followers! Who will be posting items from their closet today?!?!?!?! Let’s do this! Let’s help our neighbors! Let’s give what we can’t/don’t use! You would be surprised to see what you can gather....some pieces you even forgot you had in your possession! If you are unsure of what to post please send us a message! Have a blessed day and we hope you will be a blessing to someone today! 🙏🏽

Can we count on some of you to go through your closets this weekend and ask yourself “Have I worn this anytime this year? Does wearing this make me happy? Can I give this to someone who needs it?” PLEASE DO AND LET US KNOW WHAT YOU COME UP WITH, BETTER YET, POST PICS!

26/11/2019

It's a BIG ask but nothing beats a try!!!

Are you about to throw out one of these? Christmas is coming, are you getting a new one? Well I'm sure a single mother would appreciate your old one even if a burner doesn't work! We know someone who could use it! Send us a message!

26/11/2019

57 LIKES in almost 24hrs! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! Keep sharing and spreading the word!

We’ve also gotten numerous messages! I can safely say this page is certainly a NEED in our community!!!!

Feedback: if you prefer to send us your photos and details in order to manage your giving/asking post, send us a message privately! We’ve gotten requests which we cannot help fulfill as yet but I’m certain we will accomplish this soon! We will try to post some of the NEEDS persons have requested so far, but in future we are trying to build a generous community so we do encourage you to make an open request!

May each and everyone go and return home safely today! BLESSINGS!

We offer a space to give and receive, share, lend, and express gratitude through a Lucian network of local gift economies in which the true wealth is the web of connections formed between people who are real-life neighbors. Post anything you'd like to give away, lend, or share on our community page. Ask for anything you'd like to receive for free or borrow. Anything you need help with, big or small. Keep it legal. Keep it civil. 🙂

*CLOSED*Please Excuse the language.

Can someone local help get her a pair of shoes as early as today or tomorrow?

25/11/2019

HERES HOW IT WORKS!

If you have something to give:
-take a picture
-post it with a description
-post when you would like it to be collected or dropped off or meet up.
eg. “GIVING small tea kettle, willing to meet in Castries or pick up in Dennery by the gas station”

If you need something:
- find a pic online (if you feel like it)
- give a description with when you need it by!
- tell us if you can pick it up/ drop off needed/ willing to meet up and where

Those abroad— if you’re willing to carry an extra piece when traveling back home, willing to ship an item, whatever the case may be, this can be coordinated in a chat!

**Safety first, day light hours preferred**

ANY NEGATIVE OR DEGRADING COMMENTS, YOU WILL BE BLOCKED!

Hi All!
I created this page in order to give us all St. Lucians a platform to give and receive freely!

We spend our lives hustling and struggling to make ends meet, to purchase things brand new, to pay for services when in fact, we can give/exchange a lot of the things we try to pay for!

New school year, your kids got new shoes from overseas but the old one can still be worn? Let’s try swapping with a parent who can’t afford a new one!

Your kids were blessed with new toys for Christmas and they have a quite a few they do not really play with? How about giving it to a mom who is willing to clean and make it look brand new for her son/daughter?

Your pipe broke and you can’t afford a plumber? How about exchanging a breadfruit with someone who can fix it?

Someone said they would pass by your house so you cooked extra but they didn’t show up? Post it, someone in your community can come get it!

You need something in Castries but you don’t have the bus fare? Post and ask if anyone can do it for you while they’re heading to the city!

Do you get the idea?

I thought I’d create a space locally where people can ask for what they need and share what they have with others!

JUDGMENT FREE ZONE! Let’s help our neighbors!
I understand this may take a while for people to warm up to because we are proud Caribbean people, but think about it! Think about the culture of generosity! Think about meeting needs within our community with helping hands! It can work, let try it!
