Amazing Benefits Of Clary Sage Essential Oil

The health benefits of Clary Sage Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties as an antidepressant, anticonvulsive, antispasmodic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, bactericidal, carminative, deodorant, digestive, emmenagogue, euphoric, hypotensive, nervine, sedative, stomachic and uterine substance.

Clary Sage Essential Oil is extracted by steam distillation from the buds and leaves of the Clary Sage plant whose scientific name is Salvia Sclarea. It is an herb, believed to be a native of Europe, which has been highly praised as a medicinal plant throughout history, particularly owing to its numerous benefits for vision and eye health. It is a close relative of common garden sage, but it has a slightly different organic makeup. Furthermore, you may be familiar with it as “Muscatel Oil”, a common name given to Clary Sage essential oil due to its traditional use of flavoring muscatel wine.

The chief components of Clary Sage Essential Oil are Sclareol, Alpha Terpineol, Geraniol, Linalyl Acetate, Linalool, Caryophyllene, Neryl Acetate and Germacrene-D. As the name suggests, Clary Sage oil was and still is primarily used as a cleanser for the eyes. It is supposed to brighten eyes, improve vision and protect loss of vision due to premature or normal aging.

Health Benefits Of Clary Sage Essential Oil
There are many health benefits that aren’t as well known, which are explained in much greater detail in the following section.

Antidepressant: Clary Sage Oil can boost self-esteem, confidence, hope and mental strength, thereby efficiently fighting depression. This can be very helpful for forms of depression due to failures in your career or personal life, insecurity, loneliness, stagnation, death of a friend or loved one, and many other reasons. Clary Sage oil also relieves anxiety. As an antidepressant, it can be systematically administered to patients suffering from acute depression who are undergoing rehabilitation.

Anticonvulsive: It calms down and reduces convulsions, whether they are epileptic or from some other nervous disorder or mental condition. Clary Sage essential oil brings about peace of mind and acts as a sedative for tense nerves.

Antispasmodic: Clary Sage oil is useful in the treatment of spasms and related ailments such as muscle cramps and respiratory system cramps, spasmodic coughs, stomachaches, headaches and spasmodic cholera. It relaxes the nerve impulses and doesn’t allow uncontrollable spasms to occur.

Antibacterial: This type of essential oil kills bacteria and fungi, curbs growth and spread of bacterial infections, and also protects against new infections. Studies show that Clary Sage essential oil is particularly beneficial in curing bacterial infections affecting the colon, intestines, urinary tract, and excretory system. It is equally effective in inhibiting the harmful behavior of bacteria entering our body through water or food.

Antiseptic: Wounds will not become septic, nor will they be infected with tetanus germs if Clary Sage oil is topically applied to them. The antiseptic qualities can protectthe body during surgical recovery and in all types of wounds that are typically hot spots for infections.

Aphrodisiac: This is one of the most well-known properties of Clary Sage oil. It is an aphrodisiac, which means a substance or stimulus that boosts libido and feelings of s*xual desire. It is very effective in treating frigidity, psychological problems resulting in loss of libido, and even impotency. Studies have shown it to be equally effective in males and females. It affects the hormones of the body and increases testosterone levels, which can increase performance and interest in s*xual activities.

Astringent: If you think that your gums are weakening their hold on your teeth, then sooner or later, they will start falling out. Speak to a dental professional first, but it is never a bad idea to use Clary Sage oil because it has astringent properties. It does not only strengthen your gums but also strengthens and tones the skin, muscles and hair follicles, preventing hair loss and making you look and feel younger. It functions as an antioxidant in this way by tightening up the skin that might be sagging due to the activity of free radicals present in the body.

Skin Health: More specifically, there is an ester present in Clary Sage essential oil called linalyl acetate, which reduces skin inflammation and heals rashes. Furthermore, it balances and regulates the production of natural oil in the skin, reducing both oily and dry skin and makes your skin look young and beautiful. It is recommended to be used directly or mixed with a carrier agent like almond oil to facilitate maximum absorption and effect.

Carminative: Clary Sage oil, owing to its carminative properties, can eliminate your gas as quickly as a needle empties a balloon! That is, it will eliminate excess gas in your body through flatulence, which will reduce the sensation of being bloated. You might find it funny, but gas can actually be fatal when it pushes upwards and hits the delicate organs inside your chest cavity, so a downward movement is always the safest way to expel them. This essential oil also inhibits the formation of gas.

Emmenagogue: If you are having troubles with irregular, obstructed or painful me**es, you can try Clary Sage oil before you spend a fortune on specialized treatment from a gynecologist. There is no need to worry since it has no adverse side effects. It simply stimulates the opening of obstructed me**es and makes them regular, while easing the pain. It also cures dizziness and mental irritation during me**es as well as in cases of Post Menopause Syndrome. Furthermore, it can help reduce the symptoms and negative effects associated with menstruation like cramping, bloating, mood swings, and cravings for food by balancing the hormones that run rampant during this time for women.

Euphoric: Clary Sage oil can induce a feeling of immense joy, confidence, pleasure and high spirits and fill you with the desire to live your life to the fullest. This is why it is frequently used to cure depression, chronic stress, and anxiety.

Hypotensive: Clary Sage oil is very effective in reducing blood pressure by relaxing the veins and arteries, thereby reducing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, atherosclerosis, and brain hemorrhaging. By reducing blood pressure, it widens the blood vessels and allows for increased circulation, resulting in increased oxygenation to the muscles and organ system, boosting your overall metabolic performance.

Nervine: Clary Sage essential oil is good for your nerves. It sedates nervous convulsions and other disorders such as nervousness, vertigo, anxiety, and hysteria.

Sedative: Do you need to calm down? Do you want to concentrate? Or do you simply want to relax and have a good night’s sleep? Clary Sage oil can help you with all of these. It reduces inflammations and has an undeniably calming effect. People suffering from chronic stress or anxiety disorders find great comfort in the use of Clary Sage essential oil.

Stomachic: This oil also maintains the health of the stomach and regulates secretions of digestive juices. In this way, it prevents stomach disorders and helps to stimulate efficient absorption of nutrients and digestion of food, and regulation of bowel movements. It also helps the healing of ulcers. By regulating bowel movements, it can also protect the integrity of your colon and reduce the chances of more serious gastrointestinal conditions, including colorectal cancer.

Deodorant: Buying synthetic deodorants is not only expensive but they also negatively impact the environment. Their pleasant smell effect only lasts for a short time. Moreover, sometimes they produce irritations on skin and allergies. Clary Sage oil can be a far better choice as a deodorant, because, in diluted form, it serves as an efficient deodorant without any side effects. It is natural, so it doesn’t impact the environment, and its effects can last for a long time.

Digestive: Clary Sage essential oil promotes digestion and relieves symptoms of indigestion. It boosts the secretion of gastric juices and bile, thereby speeding up digestion and easing the process, which relieves cramping, bloating, and abdominal discomfort.

Uterine: Clary Sage oil helps to maintain good health of the uterus. It prevents some of the most common uterine problems that women have after menopause, including uterine tumors, bleeding, and pain. Furthermore, it regulates hormones like estrogen and ensures a long-term health of the uterus, thereby reducing the chances of uterine and ovarian cancer.

Other Benefits: Clary Sage essential oil can be used to battle addiction (particularly drugs) and can stimulate a change in mentality towards a positive way of approaching life. Furthermore, it is anti-inflammatory in nature and can treat back aches and joint pain. In terms of skin care, it can help to regulate excess sebum production and prevent acne from forming. It also eases labor and reduces labor pains.

A Few Words of Caution: It can enhance the intoxicating effects of alcohol and other narcotics since it is a relaxant and a sedative by nature. Heavy dosage can also cause headaches. Pregnant or nursing women should avoid using it since there has not been enough research done on the transference of effects through breast milk to children.

Amazing Benefits Of Patchouli Essential Oil

The health benefits of Patchouli Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties as an antidepressant, antiphlogistic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, deodorant, diuretic, febrifuge, fungicide, insecticide, sedative and tonic substance.

The insecticidal and insect repellant properties of this oil have been known for many years, particularly as it was used in the protection of clothes and fabrics from insects. As history moved forward, more health benefits of patchouli essential oil have been discovered, and it is now one of the most versatile and celebrated essential oils on the market.

Health Benefits Of Patchouli Essential Oil
Its medicinal properties include the following health benefits:

Antidepressant: This oil works great for people suffering from depression. It helps them to get over the feelings of sadness or loss and fills them with new hope. That is why patchouli essential oil is so frequently used in aromatherapy. It uplifts mood, drives away disappointment, and relaxes tension in the majority of people, even if they are being treated for something else. This is due to the impact that inhaling patchouli essential oil has on the hormones and various chemical reactions in the body and mind. By stimulating the release of pleasure hormones like serotonin and dopamine, feelings of anxiety, anger, and sadness simply disappear.

Antiphlogistic: It soothes inflammation, particularly if the inflammation or irritation is a result of fever, and it also provides relief from the fever itself. This means that patchouli essential oil could be useful in treating a wide array of skin conditions, as well as internal inflammation from conditions like arthritis and gout.

Antiseptic: Patchouli essential oil protects wounds and ulcers from developing infections and becoming septic. This is perhaps the most important property of this oil, since small wounds in the skin can lead to much more serious infections, including tetanus, if the wound was inflicted with a rusty, iron object. Patchouli essential oil protects against that possibility as well.

Aphrodisiac: Patchouli Oil is also good for treating s*xual problems including impotency, loss of libido, disinterest in s*x, erectile dysfunctions, frigidity, and s*xual anxiety. It is good for both men and women to put a spark back in the bedroom by stimulating the s*xual hormones, estrogen and testosterone, which boosts the s*x drive. Patchouli essential oil has been used as an aphrodisiac for hundreds of years.

Astringent: This powerful essential oil stimulates contractions in muscles, nerves and skin. This helps strengthen the hold of gums on the teeth, prevents sagging skin, hair loss, and loosening of muscle tissue. The astringency of patchouli oil also helps stop hemorrhaging by contracting the blood vessels. It can act as an anti-aging substance in this way, since loosening of muscle and skin is commonly associated with getting old.

Cicatrisant: Patchouli essential oil helps speed the healing process of cuts and wounds, and also hastens the fading of scars. It is similarly effective in eliminating marks left by boils, acne, pox, and measles.

Cytophylactic: This property of the Essential Oil of Patchouli promotes growth by stimulating the generation of new bodily cells. This also helps in the production of red blood cells, which can boost energy levels. By increasing the circulation, it also increases the oxygenation of organs and cells throughout the body, increasing their functionality and boosting the overall metabolism of the body. Patchouli essential oil is particularly good at regenerating new skin cells, thus keeping the skin looking healthy, young and vibrant.

Deodorant: The strong sweet, spicy and musky aroma of this essential oil eliminates or masks body odor. However, it should be used in a diluted form as the aroma of Patchouli Oil might be very strong to some people’s olfactory senses. It remains a popular oil to use as a cologne in many cultures and cultural demographics. Some people find the smell wonderful, while others are somewhat irritated by its distinctive aroma.

Diuretic: It increases the frequency of urination as well as the quantity of urine. This helps lose weight, lower blood pressure, increase appetite, lower cholesterol and remove of toxins from the body. Urination removes excess water, unnecessary salts, and uric acid, which reduces your chances of developing gallbladder stones and kidney stones, as well as forming conditions like gout.

Febrifuge: Patchouli essential oil reduces body temperature in cases of fever by fighting the infections that cause the fever. As an antiphlogistic, it relieves the inflammation caused by fever, which simultaneously helps to bring down the fever, since fevers can be reduced to some extent if the pain and inflammation associated with fever are eliminated.

Fungicide: Patchouli Essential Oil has been found to be quite effective at inhibiting fungal growths and infections, thereby providing protection from some notorious infections like Athlete’s Foot. Fungal infections can be quite serious, especially when they attack the respiratory system through inhalation. Patchouli essential oil becomes very valuable at that point to keep your body fully protected.

Insecticide: As mentioned earlier, the insecticidal property of Patchouli Oil was recognized all the way back in ancient times. Despite smelling sweet, it is very effective at keeping insects at a healthy distance. It is frequently used in sprays, body lotions, fumigants, vaporizers, and incense sticks or it can be mixed with water to wash clothes and bed linen to drive away mosquitoes, ants, beg bugs, lice, fleas, flies and moths. Only a few drops are required to keep insects away, or you can burn the oil in a room and have the effects last even longer. However, be careful about burning the oil inside, as its distinct smell can quickly seep into fabric and furniture.

Sedative: It soothes inflammation and sedates convulsions, coughs and epileptic attacks resulting from hypersensitivity or hyper-reactivity of the nerves. It can also stop breakouts due to allergies by sedating the hypersensitivity of the body towards certain elements. As an antidepressant and a sedative, patchouli essential oil is good for relaxing the body into a healthy, restful night of sleep. Reducing the signs of insomnia and getting a full night’s sleep can improve your cognitive function, metabolic rates, and mood.

Tonic: This property of patchouli oil tones up the whole body. It optimizes metabolic functions like the decomposition of food and absorption of nutrients by toning up the liver, stomach and intestines, thereby helping you to grow stronger and healthier. Patchouli essential oil also takes care of proper excretion, regulates the endocrinal secretions of hormones and enzymes and also tones up the nervous system, thus making you more alert and active. Finally, it boosts the immune system, protecting you from a wide range of infections.

Other Benefits
It has been known to help in the treatment of eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and sores. It provides relief from constipation, and can be used as a temporary antidote or salve against insect bites. These peripheral benefits are closely related to one or more of the other qualities already explained.

What’s so special about lavender oil?

Lavender essential oil is steam distilled from the beautiful purple flowers of the lavender plant. This oil is a shining star among essential oils because it is very gentle, yet very potent. Lavender has soothing, sedative properties and also has the ability to cleanse and remove toxins. If you’re new to essential oils, this is a great one to start experimenting with.

While lavender is one of the most gentle essential oils, it may still irritate especially sensitive skin if applied directly. You can remedy this by mixing a few drops of lavender essential oil into a teaspoon or so of any of Our Oil blends, or by simply ordering it pre-mixed from us. With this mixture, you’ll be ready to imbibe your skin with radiance and healing.

The following are seven ways that lavender can benefit your skin. Note: It is possible for some people to be allergic to lavender. Before using this oil all over your skin, do a quick patch test. Apply a drop of the lavender oil (diluted in Our Oil Blends) to your arm and wait for about half an hour. If no reaction develops, you should be good to proceed.

Lavender oil for acne

One of the wonderful benefits of lavender essential oil is its antibacterial activity. Because lavender oil can pe*****te pores to kill bacteria, it may go far in preventing and healing breakouts. You can apply lavender oil diluted in Our Oil to your skin after you wash your face. This will not only moisturize, but also help to reduce breakouts.

If the thought of putting oil on your face scares you, take a deep breath! Putting a thin layer of Our Oils and lavender oil on your skin won’t make it oilier — these are beneficial oils that may actually help to soothe and control your skin’s sebum production. Give it a try, you won’t be sorry!

You could also apply a tiny bit of the oil directly to blemishes, but make sure your skin isn’t sensitive to it first before going this route.

Lavender oil for skin lightening

Lavender essential oil is anti-inflammatory. It can thus help to reduce redness, blotching and ruddiness of the skin, helping to restore your bright, natural skin tone. When used regularly, this
oil may also help to reduce dark age spots and other types of skin discolorations.

Lavender essential oil may also help to lighten skin with hyperpigmentation, especially if the skin is oily. Because of the soothing, balancing nature of lavender, it’s a good candidate to ask a natural health professional you trust about.

Lavender oil for wrinkle prevention

Because lavender essential oil is teeming with antioxidants, it can help protect your skin from damaging free radicals, which contribute to fine lines and wrinkles (as well as other signs of aging skin). Simply combine a few drops of lavender essential oil with Our Oil, and use as a moisturizer in the morning, in the evening and whenever your skin feels dry.

Our Oil itself is great for keeping skin looking young and healthy, and adding lavender is just the icing on the (healthy) cake.
Lavender oil for eczema and psoriasis

Due to its soothing and healing properties, lavender may provide benefits to skin afflicted by eczema or psoriasis. It can help to relieve the itch and irritation of psoriasis, and it may help with eczema outbreaks, especially when combined with chamomile.
If you have eczema or psoriasis, it is worthwhile to talk to a natural health professional you trust about how to incorporate lavender essential oil into a routine to naturally manage your symptoms.

Lavender oil can soothe a sunburn.

Using diluted lavender oil on your skin after a day in the hot sun may help to relieve the burning and swelling. If you find yourself suffering a sunburn, first, rinse your face with cool water (or take a cool shower). Then, apply Our Oil with a few drops of lavender oil added to the affected area. Repeat as necessary, remembering to keep cool and drink plenty of water.

Lavender oil for skin fungus

Not only does lavender essential oil exhibit antibacterial activity, it may also help to kill fungal infections and irritations on the skin. This includes the common yeast candida. A 2005 study published in the journal Medical Mycology tested the effects of lavender oil on different strains of candida, with some very positive results. On these results, the study authors wrote:
“Lavender oil shows both fungistatic and fungicidal activity against C. albicans strains. At lower concentrations, it inhibits germ tube formation and hyphal elongation, indicating that it is effective against C. albicans dimorphism and may thus reduce fungal progression and the spread of infection in host tissues.”
Other nourishing uses for lavender oil

Besides its world of benefits for skin health, lavender oil has many other amazing healing properties. The following are just a few of the many potential uses for lavender essential oil:

*Improving hair health and potentially helping to prevent hair loss
*Relieving pain, such as muscle and joint pain
*Reducing stomach pain and improving digestion (when applied topically to the stomach area)
*Soothing respiratory ailments, including coughs and sore throats (when inhaled by steam inhalation or used on the skin around the chest and throat)
*Alleviating headache pain (when applied to temples and pressure points)
*Reducing hypertension and improving circulation of the blood
*Healing chapped, cracked lips (apply mixed with a base oil such as organic Our Oil)
*Healing minor burns, cuts, scrapes and wounds
Soothing the itch of insect bites (along with helping to keep insects away)
*Stimulating the body’s production of urine
*Relieving stress
*Improving symptoms of anxiety and depression
*Improving mood
*Increasing focus and mental clarity
*Promoting restful, quality sleep
*Potentially benefitting people diagnosed with diabetes
*Enhancing meditation (when either applied to pressure points, all over the skin, and/or used for aromatherapy in an essential oil diffuser)
*Freshening stale indoor air (when used in an essential oil diffuser)
*Ridding yourself of body odor (combine with Our Oil and baking soda for a great natural deodorant)

Welcome to Magestic Body Oils.

All oils are blended by hand in-house and are made with only the best All Natural Oils for your skin. This all began with a search for the best all-natural massage oils and being disappointed with the limited selections and the incredibly high prices for the few I could find.

I knew there had to be better options so I started researching natural alternatives. What you see presented here is over five years in the making and is still very much a work in progress as I continue to look into new oils and their benefits for skincare.

The question is often asked what is in the blends. While each of them are different, I do use the same measuring utensils for all blends so each one may contain at least trace amounts of the following oils:

Grape Seed
Avocado
Sweet Almond
Coconut
JoJoba
Olive
H**p Seed
Sunflower

Essential Oils are available by request. Due to personal preferences, blends with essential oils will be considered special orders and may take longer to process.

Currently available:
Patchouli
Lavender
Curry Sage
Rose
{Open to suggestions}
