Too cute!!!
Great pic!
Traces of Texas reader Howard Bottles was nice enough to send in this nifty photo of his grandmother, Julia Herrin, on her farm close to Kendalia, Tx. It was taken in 1950. As you can see, the image shows her with her chickens and turkeys she raised. The chicken house is constructed of wooden ammuntion boxes that Howard's grandfather got from Camp Stanley army depot between Boerne and Leon Springs. That building stood until sometime in the 80s when it eventually fell down. Julia passed away in June of 2009 at age 97, having lived most of her life running the home place with Howard's grandfather until his death in 1975. Howard says that she was wonderful woman who was very proud of working the place and raising a family and that she loved her flowers and her large vegetable garden. Sounds like a Texas grandmother to me!
Thank you, Howard! Wonderful image!
I need this about like I need a hole in the head. It's just too darn cute to pass up. ( I can't remember why I even came to Walmart. I just keep walking around hoping I'll remember!)?
