At Smriti Foundation, we believe that education is key to solving almost all the issues of our society.Keeping this in mind,we started our 'School Adoption Program' in Govt.School No.6 a few months back.As a part of this initiative, our volunteers go to the school on a daily basis to teach kids and motivate them to take up studies seriously.Since it's inception, the school has seen a drastic surge in attendance and students are showing keen interest in learning :)
P.S - People who wish to volunteer for this program can contact Milind Inamdar at 7204327802
In an attempt to curb the unnecessary usage of plastics and at the same time uphold constitutional methods of celebrating national festivals, we at Smriti Foundation decided to take an initiative in this direction. Our members approached the BEO (Block Education Officer) of Bijapur and submitted a request to ban flags made of plastic in schools for the 26th January celebrations. The officer has responded to our request saying that she would consider it seriously and take necessary steps!
It has been a long journey full of ups and downs.Lot of people supported us and here we are, exactly one year after Smriti Foundation took it's first step !Feels as if it all began yesterday :)
This 2014,let's pledge to be better human beings.
Smriti Foundation wishes everyone a prosperous new year !
'Tamasoma Jyotirgamaya' , let the lights of this Deepavali take us from the world of ignorance to the world of knowledge.
Smriti Foundation wishes everyone a very happy and safe Deepavali !
We all want our cities to be as beautiful as the cities in western world ,don't we ? But who is going to take the initiative ? Is it only the duty of Governmental bodies ? Absolutely not. It begins from us, the ordinary people ! Keeping this in mind, yesterday we the team members of Smriti Foundation started with our latest initiative of cleaning up historical monuments of Bijapur and more importantly , spreading the message of cleanliness among people with the help of LHCO and students of Prerna High School .First in line was none other than the glorious Gol Gumbaz :)

On this Gandhi Jayanti , let's take an oath to bring a positive change in the society and move towards prosperity that we all dream of !
The gigantic amount of pollution that we cause every year during Ganesh Visarjan has aptly been depicted in this animation video.
Do watch it and spread the word - NO POP GANESH IDOLS FROM NOW ON !

Going Green - 3D Animation Short Film on Eco Friendly Ganesh Chaturthi from SkillBell Concept : This short animated film is a message to achieve a greener planet by stopping pollution. For this purpose we have used Ganesh Chaturdhi, a festival...
Yes, we did it ! More than 40 families said NO to POP idols and brought home clay Ganesh idols. Our team carried out a door to door campaign visiting various colonies ,convincing people and taking orders for clay Ganesha idols. It was not a cakewalk as we were faced with financial constraints , time constraints and what not !But ,in the end we accomplished it and the smiles tell it all.Next year we pledge to take this campaign on a much larger scale and will give whatever it takes to make our water bodies pollution free :D
Thanks to Mr. Kale and Mr. Pethkar - the artisans who made clay idols for us !
With Ganesh Chaturthi approaching in a couple of days we decided to check into the houses of artisans who make clay idols and assess the progress that we have made so far. And yes, we were not at all disappointed ! :D
