A new study by the CDC reveals that transgender and questioning high school students are three times more likely to attempt su***de than their cisgender peers. These alarming statistics underscore the urgent need for greater support and acceptance. Let's work together to create a more inclusive and equitable world for all young people.

Fair Wisconsin and GSAFE filed a complaint with the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights to advocate for transgender and nonbinary students in the Kettle Moraine School District. They aim to create a safe learning environment and will fight against discriminatory practices in other school districts.

Safe House for LGBTQ Youth, organized by James Langreder 01/02/2024

Calling all allies! ❤‍
We're so inspired by the amazing work in creating a local, safe and welcoming space for local LGBTQ+ youth who've faced marginalization at school.

Their "hang out" nights provide vital support and community for students who've lost safe spaces at school due to banned pride flags and stickers. Now, they're fundraising to transform their space with comfy furniture, an LGBTQ+ library, and fun supplies!

Imagine the joy of feeling safe to be yourself, surrounded by friends who understand, with fun activities and resources at your fingertips! ✨ That's exactly what they're creating.

Please join us in supporting this incredible initiative! Every bit helps provide these amazing young people with the love and acceptance they deserve. Let's show these incredible young people that they're not alone, and that their community stands with them!

Today we celebrate Intersex Awareness Day! Perhaps you never thought of it but Intersex People are the "I" in The LGBTQIA+ Community. About 2% of the population has Intersex traits. Intersex people are as common as redheads or twins. Intersex people are individuals that have internal or external parts that differ from the general cis-population. They are productive people with lives, loves and family. Many of these individuals go through life never knowing they are intersex unless there is a problem. Yet, other than in name, they are little known or understood as part of the LGBTQIA+ Spectrum. Today there is a good chance that you actually saw or spoke with an intersex individual. Perhaps there is an intersex person in your own family. Help to celebrate Intersex Awareness Day today on October 26th by making yourself more aware of the Intersex Community. Remember that out of the 50 people you might see today, there is a good chance that one of them may be an Intersex Person. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

To this activist, Matthew Shepard is more than a symbol. He was also her friend. "I think it’s really important to understand who he was as a human being, not just as a symbol of hate crimes and things like that in the world...

🏳‍🌈 Celebrate Diversity in Coming Out Stories! On this National Coming Out Day, PFLAG stands in solidarity with every individual on their unique journey. Coming out isn't a one-size-fits-all experience; it's a deeply personal and individual process. Some of us are out in certain spaces but not others, some are still exploring and haven't found a label that fits yet, and some are courageously navigating the path to self-discovery. Each story is valid, each journey is significant, and every step forward is a triumph. Let's embrace the beautiful spectrum of coming out experiences, supporting and uplifting one another along the way. Together, we create a world where everyone's identity is celebrated and respected. 🌈✨
