A first for many - an international trip with Scouts! We can't wait!
A brilliant week!
It's World Scout Scarf Day!
August 1st, commemorates the first Scout Camp on Brownsea Island in 1907. On World Scout Scarf Day, all active and former scouts are encouraged to wear their scarfs, or neckerchiefs as a visible commemoration of Scouting.
We'll be wearing ours, alongside Pangea Explorer Scout Unit as we explore London today!

Today was the East Scarsdale District Scouts St George's Day Parade held at Shirebrook.
🥁 Led by 1st Inkersall Scout Group Scout Band, we paraded thru Shirebrook to the Church for a service followed by awards being presented.
⚜️ Our leader, Yvonne, was awarded her Wood Beads. This signifies she has done all training that a Volunteer Leader can complete. She can now proudly wear her beads, a tradition that started with our founder, Lord Robert Baden Powell.

After last week's fab talk by Chesterfield Foodbank our Explorers were set on a mission to fill their trolleys of donations during a visit to Tesco.
Although called a food bank, they don't just give out food. Toiletries and household essentials like washing up liquid and sponges are also requested donations so our Explorers made sure not to forget them.
They learnt a lot about the prices of everyday items from spaghetti and biscuits to deodorant and shampoo as had a set budget per team but did a fantastic job of stocking the collection bin.
We had a great night with the Cubs & Scouts of 1st Inkersall Scout Group doing part of our Community Impact badge on Tuesday.
Huge thanks to Chesterfield Foodbank for coming down to see us!
Last night we got creative and made our own woggles! Everyone knows you can never have to many woggles!
The WoggleMakers supplied the leather bands and the Explorers added their own individual designs.
A fun night of creativity.
