Hi, friends! My name is Chico, and I am only 1.5 years old. I was surrendered to Peaceable Kingdom when my owners could no longer care for me. I'm a Boxer/terrier mix, and I weigh 50 pounds. People tell me I have very pretty eyes! I am a sweet, gentle boy. I sometimes get scared of new things, like strangers, big dogs, and kitty cats, so I'd love a family who can help build my confidence as I learn about the world. I like small dogs and kids. Mushroom living his sleepy life after a slight surgery yesterday. It was to remove the floppy end of his foot that was traumatically amputated at some point before we rescued him. This old boy is Harrison, and he is looking for the perfect furever home to live out the rest of his golden years as a loved and spoiled boy. Harrison is a sweetie pie love muffin who breaks all of our hearts with how gentle and sad he is. He came to us from another shelter, and was brought there after his original owner had passed away and the neighbors found him. Harrison had been very disoriented at the other noisy and overcrowded shelter so we stepped in to bring him to a safe and more comfortable space. He is around 13 years old and seems to be hearing impaired. He absolutely loves attention from others and often cries when we leave the room. He is now in a foster home and is loving every minute of it! Harrison doesn’t seem bothered by other dogs, and can be kitty tested upon request. He has some lumps and bumps, like most seniors do, that our medical team is currently assessing. We would love nothing more than for Harrison to have a furever home where he can nap in comfy beds, snuggle with warm blankets, and have cuddle time with his people. Upon intake, Astro had a loose body, tail was held high in the air and quivering. He was meowing softly and allowed all petting. Allowed all handling. Astro is a calm and laid back gentleman. He was sleeping upon approach, but lifts his head up and looks at the assessor with soft eyes when coaxed. He then gets up and greets the assessor by the front when the door opens, and then sniffs the assessor's hand. He meows softly and accepts petting on his head and body, leaning in slightly for cheek rubs while looking around the room. He emits a squeaky meow when picked up, but remains calm when held and was easily placed back into the kennel.

A week ago today we lost our precious Mocha. She is now home with her foster mama. 💔

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you our beautiful girl Mocha passed away yesterday sometime in the early morning hours. She was found sleeping like she always does. Paws under her chin with her little legs stretched out like frog legs. We are not sure what happened. All we know is she went peacefully in her sleep. Mocha was a very sweet girl and she will be missed by everyone. We love you baby girl. May you RIP.

I haven’t posted on Mocha’s page for a while. I’ll be honest. I’ve been a bit discouraged that she’s still not in a home. She’s had so many inquiries yet none have been perfect for her. I know she’s loved and being treated so well with her trainers. But it’s not her forever home. It’s not a home where she’s cuddling at night with her people. After everything this girl has been though she deserves the best of the best. Please help Mocha get a home by sharing her posts. You never know who might fall in love with her pictures. Mocha needs to be only pet unless you have experience handling a dog who’s dog reactive and have another dog at home. She was raised with another pit bull and loved him. But because of the abuse she’s been though with her original owner she’s become dog reactive. Mocha loves children of all ages.
