I feel compelled to highlight this, and yes I am sick & tired of having to but 6 Years after we struggled to find appropriate care for Dad, we now face another choice-less decision with Mam. We are told her only option is NursingHome Care as we still cannot access funding for homecare using fair deal. It’s outrageous that this is still the case.
‘I’m tired and I am broken by it’ — Brendan Courtney on the fight to keep his ageing mother out of a nursing home Brendan Courtney looks like a broken man. Despite his upbeat demeanour covering for Ryan Tubridy on RTÉ radio last week, he is privately fighting to prevent his mother, Nuala, having to enter a nursing home in the coming weeks.
